Knights Inn Horse Cave

After reading all the reviews on hotels in the Mammoth Cave, Kentucky area, we decided to try out the Hampton Inn in Horse Cave. It was a wise choice indeed! (Thanks to reviewers comments). Very nice place in the middle of nowhere. Clean, nicely furnished, great accomodating staff! We had a room with 2 double beds. Nice comfy beds (with white fluffy comforters), quiet room (even being right off the lobby on the main floor). We were able to maintain temperature control of the room very easily. The complimentary breakfast was good. A fairly large variety of cereals, muffins, bagels, yogart, juices, plus hot sausage patties & french toast sticks. Plenty of good coffee (available 24/7) too!

The pool was decent, but cloudy - same with the hot tub. Didn't use the excercise room, but it's only 3 pieces with a TV in the corner. Was able to use the guest internet service (to write this review) too. Access to the highway was easy on, easy off. No restaurants to choose from though.

The only downer about the whole thing? Our bathroom. It was clean, plenty of towels & toiletries, blow dryer, etc. Great shower & water pressure (wow!). There was just no place to hang wet towels or bathing suits - just a 2 prong hook on the back of the door. With 4 wet bathing suits to be dried out, plus towels, it was a challenge. More hooks or towel bars PLEASE!!!

On a tour of Kentucky, we found this hotel to be of the usual high standard of Hampton Hotels, clean & tidy with friendly staff. It was full both nights that we stayed there, some visiting the Mammoth Cave area, and others passing through north or south. The pressure was obvious in the preparation of the rooms and the breakfasts, however the staff did their best but could have done with more hands on a weekend.
I left behind my camera flash gun and some other items in a drawer and after contacting the hotel staff, the missing items were FedXed to me in England arriving three days later - excellent first class service.
Across the highway is the Kentucky Down Under attraction with its animals themed on Australia, and a short underground cave walk which shouldn't deter claustrophobics and which is worth visiting. However whilst we were at the attraction, a tourist's car was broken into and it wasn't hard to see where the culprit could have come from, with a large truckers' stop on the highway just below and just across from the Hampton Inn.
There is very little else at Horse Cave and you have to drive down to Cave City, 10 miles away on the highway to find any other attractions & restaurants and perhaps the Hampton would have been better placed at Cave City. In conclusion, a good place to stop over on a road trip but of limited value if touring the area.

You usually know what to expect at a Hampton Inn but this hotel seemed exceptionally nice. It was extremely clean and well maintained. Breakfast was standard fare but good. It has a large breakfast room and it was very crowded on a Sunday AM however there no shortage of food. Everything was well stocked. I used Hilton points to pay for the room and it is a steal at only 10K points. The room had 2 double beds instead of queen but it wasn't an issue.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights after fleeing the Yogi Bear Campground in Cave City. This hotel was clean and well maintained. The staff was helpful and friendly. My son had a great time in the pool with all his "friends". Really what more can you ask for?

There is a small downtown nearby that has an Italian restaurant and a bookstore, as well as the American Cave Museum (very cool) and Horse Cave. Check it out!

Very clean and conveniently located property right off of I-65 and about a 20 minute drive from the visitor's center for Mammoth Cave. Rooms were very clean, but only have double beds and are a bit small but very comfortable. All bedding updated as well as bathrooms are new, too.

While we were there there were several bouts of bad weather--tornado warnings were issued at one point--and the hotel staff was very good at keeping guests informed. The warning was issued for an area just north of us, but they asked for guests to stay in the breakfast area so if we needed to be moved quickly we could be. They brought out extra food and snacks to make sure we were comfortable while we waited for the all clear, and let us know what the drill would be if another warning for our area was called.

Due to the torrential ran we experienced the hotel did have a constant leak in the hallway of the third floor, which we were warned about and did not interfere with our stay at all.

The pool is nice, clean and crammed with kids (is to be expected.) I was impressed we never had to ask for pool tools-they constantly kept them well stocked!
