“They should hide this cave forever”
Reviewed August 6, 2010

My son and I went for this tour on Aug 4, 2010 and thought it was a complete waste of time and money. The guide spent most of the time talking about how the town had polluted the water and how the cave was closed down because of it. Big freaking deal!! How about concentrating their efforts on expanding the tour into the cave to more than a couple hundred yard walk back and then turn around and leave. Don't waste your time or money on this until the ACCA gets a grip and makes this a place worth visiting.

“Waste of Time”
Reviewed July 6, 2010

This place is a complete waste of time and money, simply stated a tourist trap! After all of the hype you read about in the flyer you should expect to see and learn something grand. The cave, if you could call it that, didn't even have one formation like the ones you find over at the state park. We paid $15 to walk this rickety boardwalk back into a half-lighted hole that honestly smelled like a pasture. To finish it up, on the way out of the cave my daughter went to rest on a rail when she about fell into the water from it being loose and neglected. At least the service from the guy giving the tour and the girl in the gift shop was nice. Never waste you money here.

“Disappointed”
Reviewed July 5, 2010

It's a ripoff. We paid 60.00 for our family to see the cave and the tour lasted one hour. During that hour we spent 15 minutes outside the cave talking about pollution, 30 minutes in the cave but most of that was standing in three spots, and then 15 minutes coming out of the cave because the stairs were so long. We didn't see any formations and no cave life. The cave is barely lit and those of us that didn't have a flashlight in the back couldn't see to walk. I had to use my cell phone light to keep from tripping. The museum is dark and not well maintained. If you want to see a hole in the ground that was full of sewage, for the same price as Mammoth then you will like this cave.

“Neat”
Reviewed November 2, 2008

This is a great tour for the history of the area and the cave itself. How the town has turned itself around is pretty amazing. Hearing about the previous activities that have gone on in the cave was really great. Seeing the inside and rushing water was nice, I just wish it went in a little deeper. There is also a geocache right on the grounds for those interested in that.

“Nice”
Reviewed September 18, 2008

A nice museum, but reserved largely for big cave fans- otherwise it might be a little boring. The nearby cave is really cool because of the history, I think its called Hidden River Cave- right in town.
