“Time well spent”

My wife and I spent a long weekend with the family - four sons, three daughters-in-law, a daughter and two grand daughters. There was plenty of room for all, as well as enough private space to get away for a some personal time if desired. It was a cold weekend so the fireplace was wonderful. Would love to do it again in the summer or fall so we could get outdoors.

“Great place for an outing with friends or extended family.”

Nice spacious cabin with 3 floors that provided plenty of separation for adults and kids activities .Plenty of deck space to enjoy as extra space. A quiet place of the road, but not far from Hopkinsville or the Land Between the Lakes Recreational Area. Nice kitchen to layout out a spread of food, plenty of beds, including some comfortable couches...We (I) will come again some time in the future.

“Nature”

This location and cabin was the most peaceful and quiet place, I stayed here with 14 Ladies and this cabin had the comfort for all of us.. Hot water for 14 ladies showers held up it's deal for us. The cabin is located on a hill surrounded by trees and lakes and very private, if you ever stayed with this many Ladies, it gets loud. We had a big storm come through and sitting on the deck playing Bunco. was exciting, watching the storm from the deck.. We wished for one thing on this trip, (A Hot tub).. but we still had a blast with out one..(would've been nice though).. If you like nature this is the place to stay.. Nashville was only an hour away to visit and the town was interesting.. I would like to say if a problem came up the owners could always be contacted and they did all they could do to help me..

“Perfect place to relax.”
Reviewed February 18, 2016 for a stay in June 2015

We rented the Hidden Lake Lodge for a week at the beginning of June 2015. This cabin is absolutely beautiful. There are 3 levels to spread out, and each bedroom has it's own bathroom. We traveled with two families (including 3 teenagers) and two single adults, and there was plenty of room for everyone to have his/her place. The kitchen was large and well-stocked with room for everyone to participate. The entire house is surrounded by a deep wrap-around porch. We were lucky enough to be able watch a thunderstorm roll in over the hills and still be able to sit on the porch while it poured around us. There's a fabulous sectional upstairs that we named the napping couch. Anyone who went upstairs for a movie/tv would end up falling asleep. The basement also has a big screen tv with plenty of seating. The kids loved having their own summer-camp style space in the basement.
The only thing that we were sort of disappointed by was the lack of accessibility to water. The pictures show what looks like two ponds/lakes, but they were a considerable walk through high grasses from the house. So, we were a little disappointed, but it wasn't the end of the world. We had brought a croquet set in case there wasn't a lot to do outside, and the owner was more than accommodating. We arrived on a Sunday, and the grass was scheduled to be mowed on Tuesday. My brother called to see if there was a push mower on the property so he could mow an area for croquet. Instead, the owner has the landscape service come over and mow an area for croquet. She was so nice. It really was above and beyond.
The only time we left the cabin all week was to check out the town (check out Whistlestop Donuts and Ferrell's Hamburgers. Yum!!), and a day trip to Bowling Green to visit Lost River Cave. Other than that, we stayed at the cabin the entire week.
The only suggestion I would make is to bring coolers for drinks. There is only one refrigerator, and with a place this big, if you have a lot of people, the refrigerator fills up fast.

“Amazing!”
Reviewed October 12, 2015 for a stay in October 2015

This place is absolutely wonderful. The place was clean and the surroundings are ABSOLUTELY wonderful. The property is so peaceful and relaxing. The pictures online cannot do the place justice, you have to experience it for yourself. Also, the owners of this place are excellent to work with. They were extremely accommodating!! We stayed with three families and it was set up perfect for that. Reserve this place today, you won't regret it!

“Far-flung family get-together”
Reviewed September 29, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Great big beautiful cabin perched on a hilltop with great views of the surrounding farmland and countryside. Easily handled our large group which actually swelled to more than the "maximum" at one point (nothing a wisely packed air mattress couldn't cure). Coffee in the morning, and drinks in the evening on the wrap-around covered deck were the norm. The kitchen - with a giant island - was capable of putting out food enough for all, and we had a couple of full family dinners cooked there during our stay. Everything you need, indeed virtually everything you might WANT, is in place...just bring yourselves and food.

With our families spread around Michigan as well as Alabama, this was a great way to plan a get-together while also looking at land in Central/western KY...while two or three of us would be off scoping out various tracts, the rest could keep entertained back at the lodge with fishing at the pond, playing yard games, wildlife spotting (turkeys and deer are regulars) or just catching up with each other. Never once did I hear one of the kids say "I'm bored!".

This place isn't perfect...but in my opinion, it is perfect ENOUGH, and better than you might expect. It is a real value for a larger group such as ours, if you break it down to a per-person cost of lodging - especially when you factor in the economy of being able to cook for yourself (as opposed to staying in a hotel and eating out).

We think our land search was successful, and the property we found is less than an hour from this lodge. So if during the course of the coming months we find it necessary or desirable for another family gathering relating to that process, you can bet we will use the lodge again in a heartbeat.
