It is quite small, so it is usually crowded. We had lunch a Tuesday and it was full although we did not have to wait. The place is cozy. Portions are big and tasty.

I was in town on business and the list of restaurants at the motel had only the Interstate variety. I saw this one listed and decided to take a chance on it having good home cooked food.

The parking lot was full so I thought that was a good sign. What it proved is that standards are very low in a small town.

They allow smoking so the main dining room was thick with it like a bar. I sat out in the side room where there are 5-6 tables. It was amusing because their food storage is off of this room so the cooks walked out regularly to get raw steaks and chicken, carrying it in their bare hands. Can you say salmonella?

The food was really poor. The rib eye steak was what you would expect at a Ryans Steak house, tough with a lot of fat and about 1/2 inch thick. The sides were plain. Service was good but the sight of the cooks walking thru with raw meat, cigarette smoke and the general atmosphere just made you want to leave quickly.

The 12 oz steak with a small salad, soft drink and tip was $29.
