My wife and I stayed last Sunday at the Beaumont Inn. We booked directly with the Inn, the staff were very accomodating telling us about the various buildings and room they had available and telling me about all of the amenities including the Dining Room & Tavern. When we arrived Sunday afternoon the staff were very nice greeting us and showing us to our room with Porter's to assist us with luggage. When we asked to make reservations for dinner we were then informed that the dinning room is closed on Sunday. When we booked we we're also told about their tavern where you can sample local Bourbons, only to find also closed on Sunday. Our dinner choices ended up being McDonalds, Taco Bell, & Pizza Hut, not at all what we wanted after all of the lead up we received from the Inn about the Dining Hall & Tavern when we booked. Our room was nice, but the bathroom was small. The building itself was fantastic. We enjoyed an hour out by the pool. Breakfast was nice and was offered off of a menu. Overall a nice place, we would return but never on a Sunday and were very disappointed by the staff member who we spoke to over the phone as we booked our stay who described the Dining Hall and Tavern when they should have told us it would be closed.

I spent two nights at the beautiful Beaumont Inn during" The Longest Garage sale" in August, and I am counting the day's until my return. What southern hospitality. The room was so comfortable and the food at the Tavern and the main dining room were out of this world. What a treat !!!

Wow! That's how I would have to begin this review, considering I live in KY and though I love my State, I had no idea of some of the hidden treasures right in my own backyard (if my backyard were a 2 1/2 hour drive from my home). My husband and I booked the first weekend of December for a two night stay at the Beaumont for their Christmas Open House weekend. We have no children and live a few hours at minimum from most of our family, so at times it is hard for us to get into the mood for Christmas. Well this certainly helped. I felt as though we had stepped into the colonial village I set out for the holidays each year. The Inn dates back to the 1800's and has a quaint beauty and charm all it's own. The food is so delicious, you feel as if you are being invited to the home of an elite colonial family and being served only the best. Then you can join others in the parlor by the fire for Christmas carols and laughter. When we arrived on Friday afternoon, we made it in time for 4 o'clock tea and social. We met several other couples, mostly older than us, and had great conversations while enjoying warm tea, coffee or apple cider and some delicious cookies in the parlor by the fireplace. We met so many wonderful people (and added a few to our Christmas card list) who shared their stories about trips to the Beaumont. Many of them come every year to enjoy this Christmas celebration. We are in our early 30's, but felt so much warmth and affection from those around us, it felt as if we were with family by the second night.

As for the specifics of the place: the rooms were nice, very cozy and quaint. We were in the building across from the main Inn, Goddard Hall. The temperature is controlled, so if it is too hot or too cold, you'll need to call the front desk. We did not have to, as it was fine for us. The bed was comfortable, a queen size. The shower was great, with good pressure and all was nice and clean. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful from the front desk to the restaurant. It feels very familial. There is a gift shop with nice souvenirs, but a little pricey. I don't remember a hair dryer being there, fortunately I had my own, but you may call or ask when reserving. The town is as quaint as the Inn. This was also the town's Christmas weekend, so there were events going on including the Home Tour which involves several of the oldest and most decadent homes decorated for Christmas which you drive to (they give you a map and everything is marked well) and you can go inside and learn about the home's history and view the oppulent old world designs.

Obivously, I fell in love with the whole area and can't wait to visit again--hopefully next Christmas.

We stayed at the Beaumont Inn 8, 9, and 10th of May 2005. Our room was wonderful as stated on their site. Rooms in the Inn are furnished with antiques and a television with a remote control. All rooms have private baths. The Southern breakfast was well prepared and served in the main dining room. The parlors were very inviting and yes, we sat a spell in them. The Inn has three floors with elevator service. There are other cottages and houses on the 30 acres and I'm sure you would enjoy the Beaumont. In summer time there is an outdoor pool for enjoyment. The staff is so helpful and eager to assist.
