We have stayed here 4 times. It's always great and romantic. The staff members all take their jobs seriously and the place is relaxing, charming, historical and sweet. The grounds are beautiful. The Owl Tavern restaurant is yummy (the ribs are super awesome) and corn cakes at the Inn's breakfast are deelish. Can't wait to visit again!

A sprawling inn complete with rooms in several buildings, two bar/lounges and a restaurant. A great place for families to gather, because there are many spacious common areas in the main house where everyone can sit together.

Check-in was friendly and fast. The rooms, as in most inns, are different sizes, and ours was cozy and just fine (bronze), although the bathroom was so small, the door could not be completely opened, as it hit the toilet. But no problem -- the bed was comfy, there was certainly enough room for two of us (the closet is tiny), and most importantly, the blinds and curtains make the room quite dark, which is perfect for sleeping. You can hear some noise from the hall and adjoining room, but not much. Was the room overpriced? Yes, but not exorbitantly so.

The restaurant is OK. Service was friendly and attentive. The corn pudding is mostly pudding and not much corn. The fried chicken is yummy, as is the bread pudding. The bleu cheese dressing tastes like mayonnaise with bleu cheese crumbles stirred in, but the 1000 Island dressing was delicious. Prices for the dinner menu are quite reasonable, but the Sunday buffet is overpriced at $18.95. Sure, it's a nice spread, but at that price you probably would expect something a little more exceptional than standard brunch buffet fare.

Overall, it was a very nice place to stay. Lovely grounds, too, with shuffleboard. There is really not much to do in Harrodsburg, but the nearby town of Danville is quite charming, and Shaker Village at Pleasant Hill is a nice day trip only a few miles away. There are distilleries in the surrounding area which can be toured.

Our family, my husband, seven-year old daughter, and I, spent six wonderful nights at the Beaumont. We had picked this location due to the proximity to horse country and the pool. What sealed the deal was my interaction with Helen over the phone. She was extremely helpful and recommended the most wonderful room for us, large enough for my daughter to play in without us tripping over each other. The bed was so very comfortable, the air conditioning amazing, and the price very reasonable. Every person we encountered on staff, from the restaurants to the front desk to the gift shop and housekeeping made us feel welcome and special. Staying at the Beaumont made this one of the best vacations we've had. I would definitely recommend it and would love to return.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We are delighted your family had a great vacation with us. And yes, the pool is a favorite of most everyone who visits with us during the summer with several "pool guests" who return each summer to savor the flavor of our 1956 swimming hole. They just don't make them like that anymore! Thanks again and we look forward to your return.

We were going to stay here for one night in June, but were able to stay away from home for an extra day so we stayed here two nights. I rate this place a 5, because it is as if we stepped back in time, and loved that. If you prefer "shiny" new hotels with big flat screen TVs, etc. you would most likely rate this place lower. The staff was very friendly, and the breakfast was great! On Sunday it was buffet style, and Monday it was order off the menu, and both were included in the price of the room. (Try the corncakes if you go here, they are yummy!) We stayed in Goddard Hall the first night, which is across the street from the main inn.The room was large, funished beautifully, clean and comfortable. The bath is quite small, but sufficient. We stayed in the inn on the second night, and the room was small, yet comfortable, and decorated with floral wallpaper, furnished with antiques, and had a fireplace (not usable). We were on the second floor, and the elevator, original to the building, is an adventure not to be missed! One thing about the rooms is that you do not control your room temperature, but it was very hot when we were there, and the rooms were very comfortable. Both buildings had porches, and the second night there, we sat and chatted with another couple for some time. Several people we met there have been coming to the inn for many years, a family tradition. The grounds are wonderful with swings and benches in a garden-like setting, and a hiking trail as well. There are 3 restaurants, the main dining room and two tavern -type. We ate at the Owls Nest, a small pub/sports bar place. The food was great. We will be staying here again.

Thank you for your nice review. We love it when we hear from a guest who appreciates historic properties. Even though we have gently added the modern conveniences taken for granted throughout the hospitality industry, we have been careful to hopefully not remove the quintessential ambiance from our country house hotel. There are still many challenges with this structural reform, but our family has tried to remain true to the historical significance of the building. Thanks so much for visiting and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

My family and I stumbled upon The Beaumont Inn while traveling in Kentucky. The lady at the front desk said our family could go ahead and look around. She gave our family of 4 a room key to check out a room with two double beds. Once we confirmed the room rate of $135 and proceeded to give our credit card for payment she said, "oops! Since you have two kids it will be $165!" This was bad business to give us a price, then once we confirm and then she raised the Inn rate. Horrible customer service. The front desk clerk knew we had two children prior to seeing the room. The owner lost out on business because of an employee that doesn't know how to run the front desk. What a shame! It was disappointing to say the least..,

First of all, I will apologize for any misunderstanding on the part of our front desk staff. They are all dedicated, loyal employees who have retired or left other careers to join our hospitality crew and enjoy meeting folks from around the country as well as the world. We have many, many folks who "stumble" upon our historic country house hotel and wish to look around and see a room. Our standard quote on a particular room would be for two people and includes our Full Southern Breakfast in the Main Dining Room. Unlike many other properties, we do not rent our guestrooms for a fixed rate regardless of the number of persons in the room. There is an additonal person charge be it a child or adult. Our rates are published and fixed due to season and day of week.
