I have been traveling to Ky for work and staying all over western Ky; however, this last time I stayed on the lake.. what an awesome place to stay. very clean, friendly staff and overall amazing place. the cabin had a full kitchen, private balcony and big tub.. after working all day it was nice to kick back and relax by the lake.

I have had two trips to Lighthouse Landing with a family of 22, using 4 cabins. First trip was last year and blamed the problems of uncomfortable seating, the air going out in the cabin, and power outage to the over 100 degree temps.
This year's trip - NOT a single seat is comfortable (couch, dinning table chairs, deck chairs- better this last visit because I packed my patio cushions). Making the reservations was a nightmare with a rude customer service lady. Not enough garbage bags to cover three days. NO amenities for children. NO after-hours services. I was traveling with elderly parent and 4 year old, therefore, on the morning that we were to leave - I packed the van a little at a time, left the cooler, food, patio cushions, and a few other odds/ends to go to breakfast at another cabin. We returned to our cabin about 10:30 am (11:00 am check-out time) to find the ladies finishing their cleaning, they said good day, and we went in to find all of our items gone. Food items had been trashed, cooler and cushions taken to office. Ladies radioed and manager showed up withOUT our items, then went back to retrieve items, delaying our departure.
Furthermore, I had just had stomach surgery and on a special diet. We had to then find a grocery to purchase supplies for the trip home.

IF you are going to have an 11:00 am check-out time STICK to that time.

Emily S, Manager at Lighthouse Landing Resort & Marina, responded to this reviewResponded July 4, 2013

Kimberly H,
We are very sorry that you were dissatisfied with your recent stay with us.
Supplies such as trash bags, paper products etc. are provided in our cottages and at any time our guests can request more by simply calling us during office hours.
Lighthouse Landing does offer amenities for children. We have a private beach area for swimming, picnicking, campfires and shore fishing and there is a public park, volleyball court and playground just three blocks away. The city also has a ball field next to our resort.
As far as the misunderstanding regarding your check-out, we regret that the cleaning crew prematurely cleaned your cottage. Our housekeepers reported that there was not a vehicle parked at the cottage and a cottage key was left on the table. A lot of our customers leave food in the cottages after their departure for one reason or another. As soon as the housekeeping staff was approached by you, they apologized and immediately alerted the manager who promptly responded and apologized many times. Many of our guests check out early and leave the key inside. The manager was glad to return all of your belongings minus the opened food items in the refrigerator, and again the manager and housekeeping staff both felt badly about the misunderstanding of your departure. We have since talked to our housekeeping crew to ensure this type of situation is not repeated.

Very clean and close to some good restaurants. Nice views from the decks. Only negative there is no staff on duty after hours. Close to the LBL area. Overlooks a very nice marina. Close to Kentucky and Barkley Dams and Powerhouses.

We rented 8 cottages and meeting room for our 40th anniversary. Our family was impressed with the beautiful area and cleanlines of each cottage. We have visited a few times before, and wanted to share this place with our family. The staff couldn't be more wonderful. Each person we met with or spoke to on the phone was friendly and helpful. The meeting room and deck were perfect places for our family to gather. If you plan to travel to Kentucky, don't miss out on the Lighthouse Landing experience.....it is well worth the trip!

Room Tip: We have stayed in one bedroom on both sides of the lake, and a two bedroom on the north side. There...

Extremely clean, very friendly staff, and good location to get away from things. The marina also has a sailing school, sailboats for sale, sailboat rentals, and good access to Kentucky Lake. The only drawback is the town has limited resources and attractions. Be sure to bring food/drinks, because a few places in town are way overpriced. However, the Landing offers many different choices for whatever size of group your traveling with. The cottages run comparable to hotel prices, minus the obnoxious neighbors. No pets are allowed though. The marina is quite and a great place to relax. Already looking at booking another weekend in a couple of weeks.

Quiet, cozy and inviting cottage right on the lake. Wonderful views of the lake and marina. Had front row seating for beautiful sunsets from our private deck. Although we drove, it was walking distance to restaurants and shops. The fireplace was nice for the cool November nights. Cottage kitchen stocked and clean.
Reservation staff was very friendly and helpful.

We just got back from a 3 night stay at Lighthouse Landing. The cottage we stayed in was immaculate and very nicely equipped. (Take your own hair dryer.) The beds were the most comfortable I've ever slept in away from home. The view of Kentucky Lake is fantastic. I was really surprised how quiet it is however that could have been due to the fact that we hit the "off season". We will definitely be going back!
