Description: Wilshire's combines quality food with an historic atmosphere. Located in the historic home of Gen. John Payne, the original structure was constructed in 1790. The 11 room house provides ample space for small groups, weddings, business luncheons and holiday gatherings. The menu offers a diverse selection of comfort foods, soups, salads, steaks and seafood. The bar has a very large selection of Kentucky's finest bourbons and local brews. Wilshire's is very family friendly and features ample parking.

Wilshire's located on Canewood Golf Course in Georgetown, KY at 124 Gen. John Payne Blvd, [--] (108 seats) is a GREAT upscale restuarant. It is DEFINATELY the nicest restuarant in Georgetown. The building has a lot of charm. It was recently renovated to accomodate the restuarant. The interior is very charming with a lot of original structure still in place and beautiful. I believe it was once home to the General John Payne family.

The salmon has been DELICIOUS and cooked Perfectly every time I have had it. Their salads use a variety of mixed greens and offer homemade salad dressings including an exclusive Apple and vinegarette dressing. The chef offers daily specials.

entree's range from $8- 18 from sandwiches (the Ribeye is a GREAT sandwich) to Steaks.

They offer Patio dining which overlooks the course and or Swimming pool.

The Roasted Salmon with a sweet chili sauce was great, the veggies served with it was very soggy. THe Salmon was Perfectly cooked. The chili sauce did not have a bold taste, quite bland. When I asked for Lemon for my salmon I got ONE ice tea glass slice.

I have been there several times and Bread is NOT served with the meal. Not even with Pasta dishes. If you ask, they will bring you yeast rolls, but they are NOT offered you must ask.

Their chef does a spectacular job on the Banana Foster. $4.99 for a HUGE serving of banana nut bread, banana's icecream topped iwth a warm sauce made of made from butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, dark rum, and banana liqueur. It is the BEST item I have eaten there.

The chef uses Brown sugar for his creme brulee therefor the sugar is a melted topping instead of a hard carmelized white sugar topping. served with cinnamon crusted pecans on the side.

They have a great selection of appetizers, sandwiches and entrees also have a full bar with wines, drinks and beers. If you want a relaxing upscale meal prepared by a chef, you wont be dissapointed if you go to Wilshires. I have never had any wait getting in the restuarant early, but if you go at peak times on weekends you may have to wait.
