Patton Museum of Cavalry and Armor
Ranked #1 of 2 things to do in Fort Knox

We visited the Patton Museum during their 60th Anniversary Military Reenactment. We enjoyed the history of the Armor Divisions along with the history of General George S. Patton. Our boys really enjoyed it especially after we watched the movie, Patton the day before we hit the road. The musuem's gift shop has really improved over the years and their prices are respectable. In addition, we also visited the US Cavalry store off of 31W for some extra Army gifts like MREs and some BDUs. It is about 3 miles from the museum. Furthermore the Patton Museum is within a mile of Radcliff which means you don't have to drive back to Louisville for a nice restaurant. Oh, one thing to remember, be sure to check for the yearly Patton Museum Military Reenactment.

My family & I recently visited the Patton museum. We enjoyed the museum very much. My father in-law, a veteran, really seemed to enjoy the museum also. It is free, so If you are ever in the area or nearby it is worth the time to stop by and see museum. You will not be disappointed.

This museum was great! The Tanks parked in front were a little teaser for
what was on the inside. Military and history buffs will have a fun time here!

Excellent museum, worth the trip. Hard to get through Louisville traffic to here, but worth it. most, if not all, of the armor has actually been used in combat. One thing, just poor timing, the gift shop was closed the day we were there.

The Patton museum is a great example of a voluteer run museum. Great displays to help illustrate what it was like in ground warefare in WW1 and WW2. Even some gulf war artifacts in this colleciton. The staff is knowledeable and happy to answer any questions. Best of all it doesn't cost a dime!
