“Very pleasant”
Reviewed October 7, 2009

Stayed one night here since we were flying out of CVG airport in the morning. Nice hotel, right off I-75 next to several other hotels - surprisingly not much noise with fan running in room. Got a good deal using Priceline by bidding on 3-star hotel in airport area. Front desk was very helpful, room with 2 double beds was nice and clean and blessedly smoke-free (unlike our bad experience the night before!). Only regret was no complimentary breakfast, they have a $9.95 breakfast buffet. We went to the grocery next door to stock the frig with juice, milk & ate cereal. Better than average coffee in the room. We took advantage of their shuttle service to return our rental the night before and take us to the airport the next morning. Very glad we did, since it's about 15 minutes drive to airport on not very well-marked roads. The shuttle drivers were very pleasant. The indoor pool and spa were nice but we didn't have a chance to use them. We also used their business center to print our boarding passes so this hotel really made our traveling much easier!!

Stayed here recently for work and was quite pleased with everything. While there was a charge for the breakfast, it was worth it and I thought actually it was a bargain considering all you get to choose from. Only thing I didn't like was my room location. It was right across from the elevator so it seemed noisy at times but I especially liked my balcony. Easy access to 75/71 and 275. Will be staying here again.

I was stranded last-minute in Cincinnati and thrilled to get a bargain basement rate on Priceline. The hotel and rooms are a little dated but it's clear they've made an effort to freshen things up. Overall it's nothing special, but clean, convenient, and the beds were great. Free and fast Wi-Fi was nice, too. It's not really near the airport - about 20 minutes away. But the shuttle was prompt and really saved me time and money. I wish breakfast had been included, however the $9.95 breakfast buffet smelled good and was probably a better deal all told than the bare-bones "continental breakfast" offered when a hotel has free breakfast.

This is a clean, well-managed facility -- quite a switch from the Clarion just down the street where we had stayed earlier. Krista, who greeted us at the desk, was very cordial and professional in her interactions with us. The room was immaculate. Our only minor complaint was that the maid had forgotten to leave shampoo for the shower. There was a charge for breakfast the next day, but it was a good breakfast and the staff was very welcoming and helpful. Krista gave us a good recommendation for dinner -- the Raffertys Restaurant a short distance away.

I had a longer than usual stay at this property (21 days), so I got to know it pretty well. This is a great property for someone who is here on business in Cincinnati, but doesn't want to be in the middle of downtown. This was truly like living in the suburbs.

Pro: GREAT staff. Refrigerators in the rooms. Easy access (walking distance) to grocery store and a couple of restaurants. Easy drive to malls, etc. Easy access (20 minutes during rush hour traffic) to downtown Cincinnati. Good, Marriott quality bed for a hotel of this price range.

Con: Probably not a good place to sleep late. Doors slamming were really loud in the morning. Breakfast buffet was NOT complimentary and was overpriced. I ate there once at the beginning of my stay and then realized I'd need to leave earlier in the morning to find breakfast on the way into town. The gym is functional if you want to get your workout in, but not much to it.

Overall I really enjoyed this hotel and have already booked it again for a 2 week stay at the end of the month.

  • Liked — Great Staff. Easy access to Cincinnatti w/o being stuck in the city.

We chose this hotel because we were going to the Creation Science Museum and they offered a discount. But using the coupon book we got at a rest area on the freeway was a better deal by $10. The hotel is nice, as you would expect a Marriott to be. It is a little dated and worn, but still nice. It is an all non-smoking hotel which we appreciate. Our first room however had been smoked in, so they moved us. They were very courteous about it and didn't make me feel bad for asking. I wish the breakfast was free, but they want $10 for it. We went to a nearby grocery store the night before and bought breakfast. The beds were comfortable, but the room is a little small for a Marriott. We had a very large balcony which was nice. It was nice to sit out there and get some fresh air after traveling all day. You are near the airport, but we did not hear the planes inside the hotel room. The room does have a small refridgerator. Nothing really great about this hotel, but it does have the comfortable Marriott bed which was all we were after on this stay.
It has an indoor pool which was being used, but we didn't use it.

Inside the rooms, this Courtyard is just as good as any other with up-to-date furnishings, separate bath and vanity, and the wonderful Marriott bed. Some unexpected touches -- the hotel provides white noise machines in each room and offers ear plugs upon request. My standard king room had a microwave, fridge, and a phone in the bathroom! However, the courtyard here (for which the brand is named) is nothing more than a small lawn surrounded by a concrete fence on the desolate side of the freeway. The lobby also could use a redo -- lose the fake ferns -- and the pool offers little to write home about. The spa did have more jets than I usually find in these hotel spas. On the plus side, the friendly and experienced staff will gladly shuttle you the 5 miles to the Cincinnati aiport. While there is another Courtyard a bit closer to the airport, it wasn't available for my stay so I picked this one, and amenties appeared to be about the same at both. If you want a comfortable room near the airport, this is one of the area's better options. If an extended business trip, you might get bored here.
