Residence Inn Cincinnati Airport
Ranked #3 of 9 Hotels in Erlanger
Reviewed August 24, 2013

Would have rated higher if not for the poor drainage of the bathtub, flickering light in the kitchen, and the very slow wi-fi. A little far from the center of the city. Otherwise a category 2-3 Marriott hotel. Room rate was cheap when we booked.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. You are correct in saying our location is a bit of a hike from the downtown Cincinnati area; being an aiport property provides us with the convenience of close proximity to the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport, but the aiport itself is located about 14 miles from the downtown area. I certainly apologize about the inconveniences you experienced during your stay, however I would love for you to contact me so that I can have my maintanence staff address the issues with the room that you stayed in. We are currently in the process of negotiating an upgrade to our wi-fi speeds; hopefully during your next stay it will be lightning fast!

Free shuttle to Airport and very helpful staff. You can occasionally hear a plane but the noise level for an airport area is minimal. The hotel room could use some updating. The tub in our room was definitley overdue for replacement. The breakfast is a standard Residence inn breakfast but the " social hour" is only Monday to Wednesday and nothing to rave about. Others have commented on the lack of restaurants in the area. There are restaurants that deliver and there is a Japanese restaurant within walking distance (approx 2 city blocks) in an office building. The hotel is in a very small corporate park with two office buildings, a Marriott Courtyard hotel and soon a shell gas station. You need a car here or someone with a car to pick you up and take you around. The major downside is very bad wifi. We were continually (every 10-15 minutes) being knocked off for days so it was not an isolated storm issue. I had a lot of trouble getting my Ipad logged on in room, less trouble with phone and computer worked best but as I said ALL get knocked off. I would caution business people and parents with kids who need wifi that they will be frustrated.

Thank you for taking the time to review our property and share your experience with us. I am happy to hear that you found our staff to be helpful; we always try and go the extra mile to take care of our valuable guests! Our proximitely to the airport and complimentary shuttle service are convenient as well, although we are lucky enough to be insulated by some rolling hills in between so we do not expereince much airport noise. You're correct in saying that there are not many restaurants in the immediate area, however a new development right next to the upcoming Shell station will also include several restaurants in a strip-mall setting so we are excited for the project to be finished! I am terribly you experienced issues with the wifi during your stay, we are currently in the process of evaluating our systems and potentially upgrading our services. Thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback, we hope to see you again in the future!

Our initial impression was not very good. We got a two room suite and the toilet had been running and overflowed. However, once I demanded to get another room (the water had soaked the carpet by the bathroom) we were promptly given another room. It was a handicapped accessible room, which was a bit inconvenient for our little ones, but not a big deal. After that our stay was fine. The rooms are older, but spacious. The staff was very nice and it had the traditional residence inn breakfast and even included rice...we assumed it must have been meeting a cultural desire.

this last visit a la Residence Inn was our third in four years. things that make it very pleasant are a well -trained staff who do everything they can to please their guests. better- than- average food also are a reliable commodity. those things that are making us question another stay would be mold in the bathrooms, noisy neighbors and a rate that increased in between our online booking a and our checkout folio. shame, shame on the bait and switch.

My colleagues and I stayed there recently but didn't have a rental car to use to go out to eat for supper, so we tried to take advantage of their appetizers and wine bar happy hour. It wasn't quite enough for supper of course, so we ended up ordering out for delivery, because there was nothing within walking distance, which was not optimum for us. There was however, a fabulous older lady (Diane) serving at the wine bar who overheard our plight of wanting real food but nothing was close enough. She tried repeatedly giving us any and all options to help us out, but it just wasn't going to work out. She was so forthcoming, helpful and persistent and truly understood our dilemma. She went above and beyond to try to help us and greeted us the following evening as well. She was definitely the best part of our experience at the hotel. Her customer service skills in representing the hotel well, was outstanding! Although we did not have any poor service while staying there, she stood out above the rest. Sometimes, it's the little things that mean the most and proves that ONE person can make a difference. Thank you.

We arrived on July 19 for a 2 night stay. We were given a room on the second floor directly above the pool and courtyard. Long story short, both nights a group of about 20 drunk individuals in the courtyard kept us up ALL night long. On the second night, after being awakened at approximately 1 AM, we called the front desk 3 times in the course of 2 hours. During this time, we had to endure loud, and obnoxious voices, inappropriate language and even observed grown, drunk men urinating in the bushes near the pool area (we found out later that this was a group of police officers here for a softball tournament...imagine that). When there continued to be no resolution, we dressed and went down to the front desk personally to speak with Travis at about 2:30 AM. we explained to him that we hadn't slept in 2 nights and requested a new room. He informed us there were no rooms to be had. I then asked for him to please call his manager and ask what could be done. The manager on the phone suggested that we call local police officers to intervene. Travis did proceed to do that around 3 AM and a deputy arrived shortly thereafter. At approximately 3:30 AM the group of intoxicated policeman did disperse. As I am typing this, it is now exactly 4:03 AM and all is quiet. Unfortunately, I am now unable to go back to sleep as I lay here in my bed full of anxiety and adrenalin anticipating how on earth my family will make the long 7.5 hour drive back to our home tomorrow morning. We will, without a doubt, never stay here again. Nor will we refer friends and family. This was our only little getaway this summer and oh how I wished we had saved our money and just stayed home.

Room Tip: If you HAVE to stay here, request a room as far away from the courtyard as possible.

Thank you for providing us with your valuable feedback. I certainly apologize that other guest's actions created an inconvenience for you; I can assure you that your experience is not a typical one. Thanks to your feedback we are currently evaluating hotel policies regarding evening usage of our courtyard area as well as attempting to restructure contracts with similar groups in an effort to avoid like situations in the future.

Check the online rates for this hotel. It is a typical Residence Inn. It rained the entire time we were there so we did not get to experience the outside activities/amenities such as pool, basketball court and gazebo while there.

Two small complaints and one could not be helped. We got a room on the first floor and I think the person above us did gymnastics starting at 5am. There was no sleeping in. I would advise a room on the third floor as they do have elevators in the building. Secondly, the breakfast crew was inexperienced. They kept running out of food, paper products and eating utensils. The food was good, but slow getting it. Overall not a bad hotel. I would stay there again.

Room Tip: This is a three story hotel. Reserve a room on the third floor to avoid noisy foot traffic.

Thank you for sharing your experience and for your kind words about our hotel! You are exactly right about our prime location; close to the airport and only a 15 minute drive to downtown Cincinnati. It's unfortunate that the weather during your stay held you from utilizing our outdoor facilities; our pool, grills, and SportsCourt are always a big hit with summer season guests. Thank you again for your feedback, and hopefully the weather is more pleasant on your next visit with us!
