Food is great. They constantly bring you something to eat. As soon as you're finished with one dish, it's time for the next. The atmosphere is nice, but you can still come in very casual and not feel out of place. Get the fried rice and chicken wings! Yumm

We have patronized this restaurant for years and we have always enjoyed the offerings and the reasonableness of the prices. The staff are very nice and accommodating.

It is always a leap of faith to try a new Chinese Restaurant. So many buffets and take-out joints stay in business because they are convenient instead of good (and so many "sit-down" restaurants have skewed Pan-Asian or have such distinct regional flavors that it is hard to adjust to), but the quirky building at Green Bamboo made me curious to try it.

The outside of the restaurant is a treat. It looks like a little (neon-lit) pagoda in the middle of a strip-mall. There is even a patch of real green bamboo (hence, the name) outside the front door.

Stepping through the front doorway was like walking back in time. It reminded me so much of the old sit-down Chinese Restaurant in Kenova, WV that I went to as a little girl. It has all the trappings of a "traditional" Chinese restauarnt: a giant laughing Buddha, wall-hangings made out of jade, giant vases, fans, paper-lanterns...even a HUGE fish tank.

Things started rough. There was an excessive wait to get a table (and a few disgruntled people milling around up front gave me the impression that they had been waiting on take-out for a LONG time), but our patience was rewarded. After we were shown to our table, the service was excellent. There was a big bowl of crispy noodles (DELICIOUS - we ate two bowls) on the table that we munched on while the waiter brought our drinks. There was never a long delay between courses when the meal began.

The restaurant offers the option to order dishes a la carte, or as a "dinner" (which includes an egg roll, soup and rice). There is a "combo dinner" option that lets you have portions of two dishes. Yes, it was more expensive than normal take-out. The prices were on par with P.F. Chang, but the food was really worth it. We had Won Ton Soup, Rice (both steamed and fried), Egg Rolls, Pepper Steak, sweet and sour pork, sesame chicken, shrimp in lobster sauce and beef with broccoli. It was across the board yummy. The only things that I wouldn't put as first rate are the egg rolls (filling was great. Wrapper was a bit tough) and fried rice (only because I am used to rice with some onions/carrots/egg in it as opposed to only oil and soy).

The portions were enormous. We easily had enough left over for another complete meal (if not two!).

We will definitely go back and highly recommend this restaurant to our friends.

Priced higher than competition in e-town, but well worth the extra money.
The food has great flavor and is served quickly!
Place is dated and slightly "messy", but it is clean.
Servers seem happy to be serving, and we did not want for anything.
Overall, a solid place for dinner, will be back when the Chinese craving hits us.

I am 31, and have eaten soy sauce on my Chinese food as far back as I can remember, you don't use it here. The flavors stand alone and are superb! Fed a family of 6 with two dinners! And still had half left over. We will plan our trips around stopping here again.
