Description: Welcome to Texas Outlaw BBQ, judged America's GREATEST RIBS and Barbecue all over the nation. Our restaurant in Elizabethtown, KY is a reflection of our storied National Competition BBQ Cooking Team, which has been competing all over North America for decades winning over 300 national awards to date. Each year, we serve up well over a quarter-million pounds of BBQ from coast-to-coast. We started in Houston, TX and our restaurant has been operating in Elizabethtown, KY for the past 15 years. We use our same seasoning and slow-smoking style that has given us the award-winning flavors you are about to experience in our award-winning ribs, beef brisket, pulled pork, turkey and chicken. We are REAL TEXAS BBQ with the authentic pink smoke ring in the meat created by our spices and 6-13 hours smoking our meats low-and-slow. The smoke ring means you're getting real hickory wood smoked BBQ, not some white, mushy, boiled, broiled or baked meat. We didn't earn the title of GREATEST RIBS IN AMERICA or LEGENDS OF BBQ by serving anything but quality meat, spiced and slow-smoked in the best made smokers in the world. You can be assured you will never eat pre-cooked, frozen or microwaved meat at TEXAS OUTLAW BBQ. Our smokers operate 24 hours/day, around the clock and if we don't sell it tonight we throw it away tonight. So as my grandmother always said, "The proofs in the pudding". So sit back, relax and enjoy your meal. We hope to see you soon!

Right next to our hotel so what the heck? There is a line to get seated, but it they take your name down you have to wait right there. They will not come and get you at the bar.

Place was busy and we were hungry so we ate at the bar. Portions were big, the food was served hot and the flavor was okay. Maybe because it was so busy or just the way it's done, but the wait staff didn't really overwhelm with service.

We gave this place a shot and it was just ok for us. The beer tasted stale and the food was cold. The bar area seemed pretty cool and could be a good place to hang out and watch the game. With other places in the area I'd go else where.

Asked Onstar to direct us to a rib place close to the highway. When we walked into the restaurant, the floors were sticky and greasy. There were only three female staff that were handling everything. One tall person (I think the manager) working in the kitchen with her hair flying around the kitchen and no apron on. The server was nice and very stressed that they were short-staffed due to flu. I ran into the cook in the bathroom and her t-shirt was filthy (she was very nice). When the food arrived, it was microwaved to the max. The ribs were terrible, the side veggies were soggy. The only decent food was the brisket. Overpaid for bad food.

While I appreciate a non chain restaurant and I know the people in charge are trying their hand in a world of multi chain conglamerates, this food is completely and totally average. You don't get good portions and there is a reason why it is usually empty, even on a Friday night.

We tried this restaurant as it had been mentioned as being pretty good on one of the reviews for the Comfort Suites across the road where we stayed. It was ok, and the service was fine, but not nearly as good as our experience has been with Texas Roadhouses and there is one of those right there also. This seemed to be kind of a poor copy of that model with food that cost a lot more and was not nearly as good and of worse quality. i was especially disappointed in the salad as Texas Roadhouses's is great with a variety of veggies, cheese, eggs, etc. and this one was mostly just iceberg lettuce with some cucumbers tomatoes. Cheese would not have been standard, but they did put some on without additional cost at my request. In the future, I would go to Texas Roadhouse instead if I were staying there again!
