Absolutely amazing. The staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. The grounds were immaculate and offered a lovely walking track through the gardens along the river.
The buffet breakfast offered a mix of traditional food and western options.
We had a private villa with a plunge pool - it was definitely the best place I have stayed EVER. We felt removed from where everyone else, but it wasn't too far to get back to the main area (although anyone with a walking disability may want to think of a different ace to go).
The bar and restaurant offered good options and there was an hourly shuttle bus into and out of central Ubud which was great.
The day spa was located down near the river - although a bit expensive, the quality of the treatments were fantastic.
Absolutely beautiful!

Stayed here 3 nights in October 13. Located besides a river and next to rice fields of ubud, this is a lovely resort with lots of greenery and hilly. The food and the service at the hotel are very good,it's a five minute drive from the main streets of ubud. The infinity pools are amazing, and the pools at river maya,it's a bit quit in the eveningsas most people venture out to the town, however I recommend this hotel very highly.

We stayed in Maya halfway our trip around Bali to relax a little. This resort met all of our expectations. It is beautiful, in a special location between jungle and rice paddies. It is very well equiped with two fabulous swimming pools, two restaurants, a bar, a spa, a gym, tennis court and daily yoga classes. Food is excellent with a large breakfast buffet and daily dinner specials besides the a la carte menu. Our room was beautiful, we didn't choose a villa because we figured we would be at the poolside most of the time so why pay a lot more... Service was very good and fortunately not pushy at all. The river walk is impressive. The only downside is the price, although I have to say it is worth it. Our massage at the spa was very good too, but in comparison quite expensive since you can't enjoy the view at the river anyway with you eyes closed, which doesn't make it so much different or better from a local masseuse down the street.

Everything about the Maya Ubud is beautiful. We recently stayed in a deluxe pool villa and the view was just gorgeous, the villa was lovely and we really didn't want to go anywhere else during our stay. In fact, one day the furthest we went was the River Cafe which overlook the gorgeous riverside pool and the spa. The outlook is just perfect, lush greenery and quiet - everywhere! The food was delicious both in the cafe and in the main restaurant where we dined one night. We had the intention of doing so much during our 2 night stay at the Ubud but we ended up just soaking up the wonderful atmosphere!
The grounds are huge and the gardens fabulous and immaculately maintained. Staff everywhere is always very friendly.
An absolutely perfect getaway.
We'll be back, for sure and hopefully, for longer!

Room Tip: If you are in a pool villa ask for one in the 7 or 8 series - facing the sunset!!

2 days at the Maya Ubud resort and spa just wasn’t enough. We booked for 2 days of luxury during our time travelling around Bali and it was more than we hoped for. A very warm welcome to the resort and lovely double room. There is plenty to see and do without even leaving the resort. Beautiful infinity pools with breath taking views, lush green plants and trees that go on for miles and such a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. GREAT food, a very extensive breakfast spread. The small town of Ubud is beautiful, small and quaint with lots of artwork and markets. We ate in the hotel both evenings and sat up till late playing cards and drinking the relaxing bar.
The best thing about our stay was the cooking class. It was BRILLIANT, a must do if you are staying at the resort. Myself and my partner with the chef cooking a 5 course meal over 2 ½ hours. Works out around £90 per person but was worth every penny. Amazing food and an amazing experience.
I cant rate the Maya Ubud resort and spa enough. Fiendly staff always willing to go the extra mile to help and breath taking location. Stunning

Staff throughout the resort stop work to say good morning, etc and restaurant staff must refer to a booking sheet and acknowledge you are a returning guest. Whilst dinner meals may be slightly more expensive than restaurants in Ubud, the quality presentation and service is worth it

Room Tip: Try for a villa on the western sunset side of resort

We stayed at Maya Ubud for 4 nights at the tail end of our honeymoon trip to Bali and Lombok, Indonesia. While the hotel is one of the larger ones in Ubud, the staff consistently did a very good job of making us feel like we were one of the only couples staying there. The fact that the front desk remembered our names throughout our stay was very impressive! We stayed in villa #407, which was very nicely appointed with both a touch of modern flair and classic Balinese style. The only potential disadvantage to having a "garden view villa" is that there wasn't much of a view at all, and bugs often made their way into the villa. However, the hotel does fog for mosquitoes on a weekly basis, and housekeeping did a good job of making sure our villa was as clean as possible. The hotel is surrounded by lush jungle though so the bugs are kind of expected, especially in a villa.

From the moment we stepped on the grounds of Maya Ubud, the staff catered to our every need and wish with a smile. We also partook in much of the hotel's offerings, including its Balinese cooking class (which we highly recommend), arranging a tour of the area by private car (our driver whose name escapes my memory was amazing), and arranging for a massage at Maya Ubud's award-winning spa. The only other potential downfall was that the restaurant was very expensive; we did try the wood-fired pizzas at the bar which were both reasonably priced and delicious tasting, and the hotel's buffet breakfast each morning was also very good. The bar does have a happy hour from 6-8 PM and the drinks become a little more reasonably priced during that time frame.

While located a bit more on the outskirts of Ubud Center, Maya Ubud also runs a complimentary hourly shuttle bus service to the center of town. We used the shuttle quite a bit, but it does stop operating at 5 PM, meaning that we often had to take taxi cabs back to the hotel late at night.

Our expectations of Maya Ubud were consistently exceeded throughout our stay, and we would recommend it to anyone! However, for honeymooners we would recommend a pool villa because it seems those have a better view. Our garden view villa was a little more isolated than the pool villas, which seemed to be built much closer together, so ours was good for privacy.

Room Tip: Garden view villas, while ours (villa #407) specifically lacked much of a view at all, appear to be...
