We booked 3 nights and upgraded into garden view room. Every single moment here was excellent and perfect! Check in was quick and Nila was very thorough explaining where our room will be and pointing out on the map where other facilities are located at the resort. The resort had
free yoga, pilates, tai chi, nature walk and shuttle facilities which make your stay even more relaxing. The resort gave us a little surprise, flower bouquet and a cake, to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had breakfast every morning and 2 dinners which were all delicious and high quality. We also had massage with the room facing to the river and forest. This is a place where you will miss and definitely coming back! The service was definitely better than those 5 star big chain hotels. You wont regret!

Amazing place built on 700,000 m2 land overlooking the river and the jungle. Maya Ubud is so quiet and peaceful. And the staff were extremely friendly and polite. What a beautiful resort, I would not hesitate to return. Also loved the delicious food. Especially teppanyaki was grate.

I love this place from the first time my eyes land on its lobby till the time when I had to get into my taxi to my next destination.
This place is just amazingly beautiful.

The Pool Villa is a must for couples.
Very secluded, quiet and private.

The food is great.
The dance shows are stunning.
The staff are super friendly.

The infinity pool has great view.
The garden walk is really nice and beautiful.

I would definitely stay there if I happen to stay in Ubud.
Love it!!!

Room Tip: I guess all rooms are just good room at this hotel.

We booked 3 nights in a Pool Villa room. From start to finish this property exceeded all expectations. We'd chosen the Maya as part of a short week away in Bali. This was an outstanding pick, and one that I'd be more than happy to stay at again in future.

Our villa was private and secluded, complete with an over sized bathroom including large bathtub, view outside to the private pool. The bedroom was also over sized, a large King 4 poster bed with mosquito netting although not required in August. The outdoor area also had a shower and a day bed for two for downtime. The outdoor area backed onto the valley which provided for interesting evening entertainment when the noctural animals come out to play. Our villa was tucked away and made you feel like there was no one else around you which is exactly what we were after for our break.

In addition to our private pool, the Maya is home to two spectacular infinity pools. The first is located near the main building, and provides a fantastic view into the forest. The second is around about a 7-10 minute walk to the bottom of the property (which is extremely large) and is child-free. The pool here also comes with a number of cabanas you can wile the day away. The second pool was our favourite - much more tranquil and secluded and also close to the best food at this property at the River Cafe. The River Cafe provides a great range of 'clean eating' options which were fantastic. We lunched there most days and had plenty of different menu items - I'd highly recommend it.

Nearby is the massage area where the villas overlook the flowing river. My wife and I had a couples massage which was excellent and provided the most stunning view from a room for a massage.

After spending the day in the infinity pool, afternoon tea was also a great treat with a large range of cakes and Indonesian treats to have with your afternoon tea/coffee/juice.

Breakfast provided a range of fresh options with a wide variety of foods and is up there as one of the best breakfasts I've been privy to. The only criticism I would have was the main restaurant was average (we only ate their once). We didn't mind so much as it afforded us the opportunity to head into Ubud each night for our dinner. The resort staff will organise a private car into town and will pick you up from wherever you like 24 hours a day for around 50000 rupiah.

If spending your whole time by the pool isn't you thing, there are plenty of activities to keep you occupied. A fully functioning gym, 7am yoga, pilates, one hole of golf and visiting the nearby rice paddies should keep you more than entertained. Of course, there are also day trips if you'd like to get away from the resort and see a little more of Ubud and its surrounding areas.

In short, the Maya will not disappoint. A tranquil, immaculately maintained property where you can recharge your batteries. You won't be sorry booking the Maya for your next trip.

Room Tip: We were in room 501. I'm sure all the pool villas are broadly the same, but this one in particul...

The spa is one of the prettiest I've seen, hanging over the river, across a dense tropical jungle. The pool villas are lovely and have great views, I don't think the pool added much value though. The swimming pools have stunning views of the valley and the river. Its a beautiful beautiful place.

Room Tip: Take a walk along the river.

Perfect for a honeymoon couple - the property is a visual delight! Most of the staff were very friendly apart from a stroppy waiter in the bar!!! No comment! A must is the cycle ride from the volcano and river rafting in Ubud ( be prepared for many steps down to the river and back not great if your not fit) two days in Ubud is enough couldn't wait to get back to the beach! and the Niksoma! Amazing location. We stayed in a private villa and were upgraded to a pool villa for free. Rooms are perfect, private and relaxing. Staff are warm, friendly and professional. Spa is great in incredible location with waterfalls all around. Hotel has 2 pools but only one pool seems to get sun and that pool has limited seating which can be frustrating if hotel is very busy but we were able to get pool seats each day. Overall the hotel is expensive for Bali but it is 5 star and the location, service, spa and rooms justify the cost. Will return.
