“Best ever hotel shower”
Reviewed February 20, 2014 via mobile

We were in Covington for a dance competition. Staying at the Marriott was the best decision we made since there is a walkway connecting the hotel to the Convention Center. But the convenience of not having to go out in the bitter cold is overshadowed by the showers that I took while we stayed there! The water pressure was perfect!!! It may seem petty, but I'm sure most of my fellow travelers can relate to staying in a gorgeous hotel just to be disappointed by their shower!

Marriott - Covington, KY

As soon as you get on the garage elevator, this place stinks.  Some kind of burning smell is not a very positive scent to encourage you to stay here.  This is not new...I've been here several times, mentioned it to the front desk, and they do nothing.

I'm Marriott Platinum elite and every time I've been here I've had to ask if I could be upgraded to the Concierge Floor.  Never have they done it without me asking and it seems such a chore for them even though the place was virtually empty.

They must have new bedding here.  Our double beds were rock hard...certainly not the quality of the 102 nights I've stayed in other Marriott hotels last year.  The pillows were terrible plastic...no feather follows at all.  Even the shower head wasn't Marriott standard.

Concierge lounge breakfast...two types of scrambled eggs with no bacon or sausage.  The rest was normal fare cereals, bagels, OJ, etc.  Platinum gift was a $10 card that had to be used toward food/drink on this stay

Fantastic views overlooking the river and downtown Cincinnati skyline. We had a late arrival and had no issues. The front desk and valet were friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean, large and the king size bed extremely comfortable. A great local getaway. Cannot beat the value.

Room Tip: Choose a skyline/river view, you won't regret it.

The Cincinnati Marriott at the River Center Covington, KY is a great place to stay or have an event or business meeting. The service is excellent and I found a wonderful friendly face at the check-in front desk. Stefanie Luginbuhl office manager greeted me with a big smile and thanked me for staying at the Marriott. The parking garage was part of the hotel but was managed by a different group. I thought I could have my ticket validated at the front desk but you have to pay in cash or credit card on the way out. If you don’t want to add the $10.00 buck to your credit card have some cash on hand. The view of Downtown Cincinnati is a prefect picture for your hotel room.

Room Tip: I stayed on the 12th floor and the view on the Cincinnati Bengals football stadium was fantastic.

My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in January and decided to spend some time in Cincinnati. We reserved the concierge-level king room with a balcony overlooking the Ohio River. Even though it was cold and could not make much use of the balcony, the view of the river and city skyline was spectacular! The concierge lounge was an added bonus with great hors d'oeuvres, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages (beer and wine was available for purchase.) The entire staff was very customer-focused and friendly. We had an exquisite anniversary dinner in the 10 West on-site restaurant. The portions were very large and everything was very well prepared and delicious. But the highlight of the stay was the complimentary bottle of champagne and the chocolate-covered strawberries delivered to our room with a wonderful "happy anniversary" message from the staff. I believe the manager overheard my husband mention in passing to the receptionist at the front desk that we were celebrating our anniversary. That was just icing on the cake for a wonderful anniversary get-away. We can hardly wait to return in the summer to experience the hotel ammenities in warmer weather. This hotel and staff get 5 stars from us.

I find it very strange that Fox News is not offered when CNN is available. It cant be based on ratings. Why then? The bar was not very well stocked with a wide variety of craft beer, but they Harpoon and Sierra Nevada whcih was better than nothing. The people working the bar were nice but seemed short staffed when there was a little rush. All in all though a nice place.
