We were in town for a mixture of business and a long weekend get-away, Thursday through Sunday. We stayed here because we wanted to go to a local festival (MaiFest) to eat brats and drink beer!!! For that purpose, it was great. However...the staff was lacking. Let me preface all this by saying they had at least two large groups of teens staying that weekend, so I'm sure everyone was frazzled. We heard the kids all night Friday, so I'm sure they left quite the mess to clean up. But, our room was not serviced at all on Friday, even though we left at 9 am and did not return until late. No real problem, as we had hung up our towels and are quite willing to re-use them. I don't change sheets daily and don't expect a hotel to. But, there was no coffee, no clean cups, etc. When we advised the front desk that our room was not serviced and we would need more coffee, she gave us two (one for each of us) and no new cups. Ok. So, the next morning, I put out the "please change the linen" sign (this was the only request I could find - I really just wanted the trash emptied, some coffee and new paper cups, but...). We went to the coffee dispenser near the lobby - it was empty. Other patrons had just advised them it was out, so a front desk employee came to get the coffee urn, and complained about customers who filled their big cups with coffee on the way out for the day. He talked about how inconsiderate they were, for several minutes. I did not stay for him to return with the coffee, as I did not want to listen to him complain about the people who are the only reason he had a JOB! Anyway, when I got back that evening, they had changed the sheets, gave us fresh towels and emptied one trashcan. No clean bath mat. No new cups. No coffee. One full trash can. So, back I go for more coffee. She gave me three this time, and I got my own fresh cups from the stand. The next morning (Sunday) we decided to eat their breakfast before heading out. At 7:30 they were just stocking the buffet. Watery eggs, really bad gravy (for biscuits, which were decent!), cold, packaged sweet rolls...Oh well. The location is convenient. Bed is fine. Easy access to interstate, walking distance to park. That's the best I can say.
