We gathered at the ES - Covington for a family reunion. Booked 12 rooms for gathering. The rooms were adequate size and clean. Breakfast was good and the views and location awesome. All employees were very friendly (just not so competent -see below)
The issues were in the details. Front desk staff was CLUELESS and messed up reservations and other requests multiple times. The parking is dismal and requires you to leave your car in a cave and then 'find' the door, go up elevators and stairs and around corners. Annoying, especially if you didn't valet or ask for a bellman. (which we never do) The breakfast was also confusing and horribly set up. You go to various spread out stations to find juice and coffee and omelets, etc. Not simple, especially when you've got kids trailing you. Finally the overall appearance was worn out. They attempted to upgrade / renovate a few years - but certainly not one of the best ES we've stayed in.
As a final note - the pool was absolutely disgusting. They did post a sign saying that they were about to renovate - thank GOD. The hot tub was green, the pool was a murky color and the deck was broken, full of puddles and hot and stinky.More
