“Convenient Location for Cincinnati Riverfront”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

My son and I met a friend in his son in Cincinnati for a baseball game at the Great American Ballpark. The Embassy Suites across the river in Covington, Kentucky is an ideal location for the Cincinnati riverfront. It is an easy, pleasant and scenic walk across the adjacent historic bridge to the city. The hotel itself is typical of Embassy Suites with the indoor atrium, included breakfast, and manager's reception. The room was clean and what you would expect from this chain - perfectly adequate for our needs. Some of the rooms must have a great view of the Cincinnati skyline, but these cost more and were not necessary for a "guys weekend". The buffet and made to order breakfast were good (although the short order cook seemed to be mildly overwhelmed and occasionally confused - but my omelet was good enough). The manager's reception was good as well with a reasonable array of snacks - not enough for a real meal though. There is a pizza place inside the hotel which stays open until midnight (and serves bottled beer). There are also a couple of restaurants/pubs immediately outside of the hotel in the Rivercenter. We did not try these, but at least one of them (Beale Street?) seemed to be attracting some business. One tip of note: Unless you just want the luxury of it all pass up the valet parking and turn the corner and drive into the underground parking lot on your own. You will have to tote luggage up a short flight of stairs to the elevator lobby and then ride up to the hotel lobby, but this is not much of chore. Lastly, this placed seemed to be a favorite spot for wedding parties, so if you plans include a weekend book it in advance for your best room selection.

This hotel is very quiet and peaceful. The food is good and the staff are friendly and very efficient. The rooms are large and set up to either be family or business friendly. I would recommend staying here.

Staff is so helpful and friendly. Hotel is in a great location and is run very well. If you are fortunate enough to receive a river-view room, you will get an amazing view of the river and downtown Cincinnati.

Great room with a view. Parking should be comped and we had an issue with the staff getting our extra bed. Great room with a view. We stayed here for a family Reds baseball trip. Great location but overall the hotel is tired. We also struggled with issues with our reservation. The group sales agent was just horrible with follow up and even after 7 phone calls they still didn't have it right when we got there. Next year we will take our group elsewhere.

Stayed at this Embassy suites in the past. It is right across the Ohio River from the Cincinnati Reds stadium, you can walk across the bridge to the game. The hotel makes you book a two night stay for the weekend games, rather than just one night. Arrived at 300pm, normal check-in is at 400pm..nothing ready. Myself and others had to repeatedly check. At 400pm, rooms suddenly got ready ??? TV problem,AC problem. Did not seem as nice a hotel as in the past. We had stayed here a few times over the years, mainly going to Reds baseball games. Both of us had back/neck soreness from the bed/pillows....and I never have a problem like that.

Standard Embassy Suites accommodations, my fave hotel for family vacations. Free nightly happy hour, very good breakfast. Nice pool and jacuzzi. 15 minute walk to ballpark, with pedestrian bridge over Ohio River adjacent to hotel, Trolley car style shuttles also stop at hotel for easy travel to Cincinnati or Newport.
