“Bit Underwhelming”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 3, 2013

This is the first KFC that ever was. And it still is a functional KFC that make and take orders. The museum part was bit underwhelming as it appears to be a sideshow to the eating restaurant. It does have a nice tidbit of history of KFC and life and time of Harlen Sanders who received the honorary titled of "Colonel" from the State of Kentucky.

I did ordered food here but overall, it only for a real KFC fan to visit and I am not really one of those. I did went to see it because I stopped by in Murray, Utah where the first KFC franchise was built so I thought I should complete the circle. I think the management of this KFC is more interested in food service then museum service.

“Fun”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2013 via mobile

If you are expecting a 5 star restaurant, you are going to be disappointed, but if you want the best KFC you have ever eaten, in a nostalgic place rich with kentucky history, this is a definite must! The restaurant doubles as a KFC and a mini museum complete with a hotel room, dining area, original kitchen and cash register area plus the Colonel's office. There is also
A lot of memorabilia associated with the original place. The staff was super friendly and efficient ( our wait time was about 10 minutes, but we arrived right after a tour bus). And the food was delicious!

“Over hyped. Nice if you're a KFC lover”

This place is a simple KFC. There is a bench with Colonel just like the McDonalds clown. There are also some pictures and stuff on the wall. Overall, it's a nice place to stop if you're passing by but I won't go to visit it just by itself.

“Historic Site and Good Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2013

If you're in the neighborhood it's worth the stop to visit the original KFC and see where it all began! I love history so I am interested in any "original" site. It is a regular KFC as far as the food goes, but dated and contains lots of photos and info about the Colonel and his rise to fame. Well worth the stop off of I-75 at 25. Just a couple miles off the Interstate. Since you're here, you should visit Cumberland Falls as well.... especially when there is a "moon bow." Yes, only one of two places in the world with a rainbow at night." Although I left the area right after high school, I was born in Corbin and I have uploaded a photo of me and Colonel Sanders at a parade in 1974, pretty cool!

“fun place to stop at”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2013

(we didn't eat here, just saw a sign for it on our road trip and thought the museum portion might be fun) The museum part of this KFC is worth a stop if you like KFC and want to know more about the history behind its origins. Fun photo opp next to Colonel Sanders on the bench. Also neat seeing the kitchen where he perfected the chicken recipe. The motel room replica is neat as well. Great stop to stretch your legs and have some chicken if you are a KFC fan.
