This is the original store of Harlan Sanders and was originally called Sanders Café before "The Colonel" and his original recipe was bought out by John Y Brown who developed the franchise from the "secret recipe" for fried chicken.

We stopped here when we were passing through Corbin. It's neat. You can see Sander's original kitchen, office, and dining room. Also, a room replica and nice little write-ups on the history. Attached to the original property is a modern KFC. It was fun stop and a neat experience.

This should not be here. Harland Sanders Café & Museum is the correct listing. The reviews on this listing should be combined with the correct listing.

If you happen to pass by the exit, stop in for a visit, but don't make any special trips or go out of your way to visit. The replica of the rooms in the Colonel's hotel was pretty cool, as well as the mini model of what the area used to look like in its prime. It is very obviously just some country road today.

This was just your regular K.F.C. with a drive-thru, but attached was a little interesting history on How Colonel Sanders started his business, owned a motel next door etc. The kids enjoyed taking a picture with the statue of the Colonel sitting on a bench...haha... It was a nice place to walk around and stretch our legs in the midst of a long road trip, but i wouldn't be going far out of my way for this experience.
