“Friendly staff in an older hotel”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 6, 2013

While visiting Mammoth Cave my family and I stayed here for two nights. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is old and dated but kept clean and neat. The free breakfast had the usual breakfast offerings- lots of carbs with the addition of eggs and sausage gravy. The price was definitely value and the hotel felt like it. It was perfectly fine for what we used it for- a home base to nearby Mammoth Cave for a clean and safe place to sleep. I would stay here again for this purpose.

We stayed in Cave City one night on our way back to MI from FL. Friendly staff, clean room and reasonably priced. You can't ask for much more for a one night stay. There's a free breakfast included (the usual breakfast bar fare). We didn't have time to visit any of the area attractions on this trip. We intend on coming back later this year and we'll definitely stay here again.

I stayed here one night during the work week. I found the hotel older but well maintained and comfortable. They have a large parking area that surrounds the hotel, so it's really easy to park a big rig. The staff is really nice, and they actually thanked me for staying with them. Even with all the road constuction on I65, this BW is very quiet. The breakfast was a little slim, but understandable because there wasn't many people staying the night I was there. I will definetely stay again.

Room Tip: motel style but quiet.

From the outside, it doesn't look like much but it's actually much nicer in the rooms. The first room we stayed in set off the smoke detectors when we turned on the heat (lol) but the front desk immediately moved us to another room and apologized. It wasn't too bad of a drive to Mammouth Cave (which is why we were there), it's just a little out of the ways compared to others. Although, most of the other hotels did not look that much nicer. All in all, it's a good budget buy.

Hair in bathtub and not just 1 or 2 but 15-20, tells me bathtub wasn't cleaned, of course housekeeping had already gone home for the day, might want to ask to see room first before checking in. Big dead moth in bathroom light, don't understand why housekeeping overlooked. I'm short and was able to easily take light cover off to discard the dead bug.

Clean and spacious rooms - bit of an odd smell like rubber but left the door open for a few minutes and it seemed to disappear.
Noticed a roach trap or similar under the desk but it must have been doing its job as there was no sign of wildlife! Comfortable bed and quiet location and a good night's sleep which is all you can ask of a hotel.
Average breakfast but what do you expect for $50 a night? Would recommend this place for anyone visiting Mammoth Caves
