“Great stay!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 31, 2014 via mobile

I recently stayed at Serenity Hill as a stop on the way to Nashville. It was wonderful. The house is beautiful, Rick, Stephanie, and their dog Oreo were very sweet. This was my first bed and breakfast. It was very clean and the breakfast was delicious! If you are planning on having any alcoholic beverages, stop on your way in because it is a dry county. We had a wonderful time!

A serene, peaceful setting near Mammoth Cave. We have stayed in bed & breakfasts including Alaska and Nova Scotia and this one ranks near the top. Rick and Steph are very accommodating. They just added a fire pit and sitting around the campfire at night was an extra treat. The breakfast, room and hosts were all great. would certainly recommend - you would not be disappointed.

We choose Serenity Hill as a base for a recent visit to Mammoth Cave at the end of a trip to visit family. We stayed two weeknights, and as it was during the off season, had the place to ourselves. Breakfasts were lovely, and our hosts were friendly and happy to offer suggestions for things to do in the area. We focused primarily on cave tours, and were very glad after a full day of them to return to enjoy the jetted hot tub in our suite. We had a lovely stay, and recommend it whole-heartedly.

The house and grounds are beautiful. The location is great; you can't get any closer to Mammoth Cave! The owners and their dog, Oreo, are very nice. The food was delicious! No need for lunch. I can't say anything negative!

We stayed at Serentiy for a night to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. Such a nice experience. Rick and Stephanie are the sweetest people. My husband doesn't like biscuit and gravy and Stephanie graciously made us something else. I wish we could have stayed another night.

We needed to get away from everyday life and this was a great place to relax either on the outdoor decks or in their comfy rooms. But still close enough to enjoy Mammoth Caves and the park. Luxurious linens/robes. Great food. And we always had tea, water, cocoa and microwave popcorn available. Rick & Stephanie are gracious hosts, even adjusting breakfast time as needed. Plus homemade cookies in our room each night!

We often travel with our good friends, kids in tow, and I am never a fan of hotels on our trips together. We travel together to enjoy social time with our adult friends, which is difficult with a hotel setup and children's bedtimes.

While house or cabin rental is easy in high-traffic destinations, we found our options limited when we decided to travel together to Mammoth Cave National Park. The whole house rental option at Serenity Hill seemed to fit the bill, however, for the eight of us.

We ended up being quite happy with our decision. The house had a few different common areas for socializing or playing games, and the bedrooms were roomy enough to accommodate everyone comfortably. Everything was clean and we had all the kitchen and dining equipment we needed at our disposal. The property is quiet and beautiful, and a short drive to Mammoth Cave National Park, where we spent most of our time during the day.

Whole house rental does not include food, but having the kitchen made dining-in easy, and the owners still left out a nice assortment of teas, cocoa, coffee creamers, microwave popcorn, etc, for us. Shopping nearby is limited, but we brought non-perishables from home and stopped in Bowling Green on our way with a few more items and it worked out great.

I took a point off 'rooms' because there is a disparity between the master bedroom choices if (like us) sharing with another couple. (You'll have to negotiate who gets the 'better' room), and water pressure gets wonky if everyone showers at once (which is likely to happen with a large group vacationing together). Other than that, no complaints about the rooms. Point off location just due to lack of accessibility to certain amenities, but the rural setting is beautiful.

No marks for service because not really applicable for a whole-house stay.

Overall, no real complaints!
