“Downtown Park - for picture taking and delicious food”

The Square was the center of downtown activity both during the day and in the evening. Several restaurants on the square. We loved our lunch at the Bakery Cafe - and their wonderful chicken salad (put Cracker Barre to shame) and that day's special meatloaf Manhattan. In the evening there was a lively scene at Mickey's on the Square, and we enjoyed the stuffed dates appetizer, and creme brulee dessert.

The square has great landscaping, a beautiful fountain and several pretty statues. a small park with several stores and shops around it. Worth a stop to take some pictures.

The center of Bowling Green is a town square with historic buildings which any architectural enthusiast would appreciate. Try to locate a brochure at a visitor's center before going so that you can appreciate the age, architecture and history of some of the buildings.

Made a point to go here b/c of reviews. Expected much bigger. It's one tiny square with a fountain. Pretty, yes, but nothing too special. We didn't see many happening restaurants or shops, seemed pretty quiet, we took a photo and kept on driving,

The downtown area of Bowling Green is very nice with a park in the middle of the town and shops all around the square. Many of the shops are quaint locally operated shops. Don't look for a lot of "big box" type shopping. We were impressed by how clean the area was and noticed two workers busy cleaning the park area. There is a baseball stadium just a few blocks away and of course lots of new government buildings in the downtown area.
