I visited this place yesterday i purchase two pulled pork sandwiches and mac and cheese and one rib dinner and it was almost 30 dollars. the sandwiches were a little dry but good the rib dinner barely had any meat on them and i was very disappointed in them. i ate here before and its not bad but it will be a while if i ever go back there are many other good barque in bowling green besides this place.

We live in Panama City Florida, but I have found best BBQ 9 hours away from me. Every time we visit family, this is a must stop. I wish I could find BBQ this good back home. It is a real treat. Don't miss it.

This place is definitely a local joint, located right outside town, the people eating inside ranged from grabbing a lunch break from the office to truck drivers to construction workers getting a quick bite. The inside is a simple place with tables and chairs and two rooms, the farther one looking down onto a cliff and then a river. We got there shortly before lunch, which was lucky for us because the line quickly grew longer.

The reviews had us extremely hyped up for this place, ready for the BBQ of our lives but the food was just good, nothing really special. We've had better! The servings were big, the plates come with two sides. We got the shoulder, the ribs, and a pulled pork sandwich plate. All three were good, the shoulder not as good as the other two but good nonetheless!

The service was great, the people behind the counter were patient (probably because lunch hour hadn't completely hit yet) and were very nice. The best part was the dessert, I highly recommend getting the turtle pie, absolutely DELICIOUS!

We were driving past the store before the typical lunch hour and decided to stop for a quick bite. I'm glad we arrived before the lunch crowd because this no-frills, modest shack serves great Q and the locals know it -- not long after we arrived the joint was hoppin' and table space at a premium.

The guy behind the counter greeted us with a booming voice and quick explanation of the items on offer, he was careful to make sure we were getting what we wanted (in regards to heat level) and made sure we were happy with our food upon receipt. No problem there. Good taste. Good preparation. Basic amenities. Rolls of paper toweling for napkins. Rustic but worth it.

Smokey Pig is a local, family owned restaurant in Bowling Green. The decor is stereotypic for a local joint; old wood building and older style tables. You might even think the place is closed down when driving up. BTW, they are closed Sunday and Monday. Inside one finds superb BBQ and very friendly staff. My father loved this place and that says a lot. My favorite is the shoulder; wonderfully rich in flavor like thick-cut bacon; decadence for meat. Other meat choices are excellent too including their pork chop and half chicken. Sauce is somewhat spicy but there are several options; I always get the spiciest which is "double-dipped." For mild spice, get "sprinkled." The only thing that could be improved is their heavy use of styrofoam for dining in and take out. An environmentally friendly approach would be awesome.
