Got a deal for one night Sunday to Thursday and decided to use last Sunday. Picked up my 82 year old Mom and off we went. The hotel was lovely, room was very nice, good mattresses and nice shower. Only issue was overlooked leftovers in the mini fridge. I reported on our way to grab our luggage and it was removed before we got back. Everyone was very courteous and professional. I would recommend to anyone.

We love that you and your mom got to get away and take a trip together. What special memories these kind of trips make. We do apologize about the mishap with the mini fridge. Thank you for being so gracious about that. We hope to see you and your mom soon!

We stayed here in a jr king suite. The hotel is beautiful, the room was big and clean, the staff was friendly. We ate breakfast in the restaurant. It was delicious and the dining room is gorgeous. Service was a little slow, but we were in no hurry. The hotel has a wonderful porch where you can read, relax... I would give the hotel 5 stars if not for a couple of things: the pillows were terrible and the tv was very small for the size of the room. It was difficult to make out the words on tv if you were lying in bed.
Also, older or unsteady people should be aware that the floors are uneven. It was quite obvious in our room, though not an issue for us. ( This goes along with it being over 100 years old.)
All in all I would definitely stay here again.

Boone Tavern caught our eye as we looked for a stopping place that would be unique. This was a gem! They just don't make hotels with charm like this anymore. The beds were the best of our trip, the room was well appointed, the food was elegant and yummy. Location, location, location! In a quaint town with great history. You will enjoy it all here!

I came here on an impromptu visit to meet a friend. The hotel has been renovated and is beautiful...true to its historic roots with elegant historic charm. The room was very quiet, tastefully decorated with comfortable beds. I loved the bathroom with white tile and period fixtures. Prices are reasonable. The staff is knowledgeable about the area and very polite. The bell man gave us a brief history of the bridal suite on the second floor. There is a lovely gift shop with area crafts. Parking is plentiful. An elegant and restful place to stay. Highly recommended.

This grand old hotel has much to recommend it. Beautiful from the outside, beautiful on the inside, nice living rooms, classic lobby. Now, it is even LEED Gold certified, so it is a responsible place in terms of environment. The restaurant is excellent, with exciting and original dishes that have a distinctly regional flavor.

All these positives, however, are diminished by a lack of attention to detail. The floor was not clean in our room, and the bathroom was not spic and span. Nothing gross, but the room could have been dusted, vacuumed, and polished much better.

One of the very few places a student can attend and not have to pay tuition. Berea College has a long history of serving the Appalachian youth who are bright/gifted and need financial support. The Hotel is operated with the assistance of students at Berea College. All students have to work as part of their Berea Experience. The academic standards are high and students who attend there get a wonderful education. Visit Boone Tavern Hotel near campus and learn about this fine college. The food is excellent and the stay will be rewarding. Don't let the word "tavern" fool you: it has no bar. I would agree with all the other fine reviews here. I have stayed here quite a number of times, the last being before 2013, but there was no choice available for the last date...

We made a side trip to Berea on our way to Florida as my wife had stopped in here with her parents when she was a kid over 45 years ago! The thing she remembered was a desert called "spoonbread" and raved about it for the hour leading up to the Berea exit off I-75. I almost got tired of hearing about it. So we parked and walked over to the Boone and I was under the misconception that it had something to do with Daniel Boone - not so. Anyway, we got talking to one of the employees, said we were from Canad and my wife had a vivid recollection of the spoonbread from those many years ago. The lady (sorry, I forget her name but she's a treasure) said they still have it, went into the kitchen and brought us two servings including the rich butter that's a must. Mmmmmm. It really was wonderful and worth the trip to Berea. We bought a few packets of the mix from the gift shop and got a tip from the lady on how to improve the batter, which I'm NOT going to share here. Go there yourself.

While we were there, we got talking to a couple from Tennessee who are involved with the college and told us the story of that. Amazing place. We wish them continued success educating lots of kids who wouldn't normally have a chance at higher education. Places like this make the US of A one of the greatest countries in the world - even if we beat you in men's and women's hockey. Sorry but it's still OUR game.

Hello! What a wonderful story to share! We love when guest come whom haven't been here in a while and can see the renovations. I am excited to tell you that we are actually named after Daniel Boone. The students came up with the name back in the 1900's. We are situated on the Daniel Boone trail. We hope you consider staying with us on your next trip to the states!! Thank you so much for your wonderful review but more importantly your story!
