“Sunday Brunch”
Reviewed July 3, 2013

Had a nice Sunday brunch after church services just across the street. Good selection of salads (honey marmalade dressing was yummy!), meats (fried chicken, baked ham, bacon, two types of sausage), mashed potatoes, green beans, desserts were fantastic and varied! Wait staff very attentive.

“Except for the Puritans in charge, it's great!”
Reviewed June 27, 2013

We ate a dinner and a breakfast at the Boone Tavern Restaurant. Service was wonderful. The room is very elegant. Seafood was superbly cooked. Breakfast offerings were varied and healthy. We will eat here again when we are next in the area, we will not look further.

But I was frankly annoyed by the fact that the restaurant doesn't serve wine. Somehow ice tea (however wonderfully homemade and garnished) didn't quite fit the bill with the elegant, delicious dinner. I don't understand how making liquor forbidden helps the students learn how to navigate in a world that is full of it. The policy made me feel unwelcome in Berea. I hope the College trustees will rethink this policy in the future, even if just offering an uncorking fee and you bring your own.

“Charming Place”
Reviewed June 25, 2013

This historic inn is extremely well maintained. Everything in the lobby, restroom and restaurant is clean & fresh. Service is excellent. The students from Berea College do an great job and are attentive, friendly and engaging. The fried green tomatoes were a little too crispy & bready for me, but the mushroom ravioli was perfect. My lamb entree was so tender that you could cut it with a fork. The pork chop was similar to the fried green tomatoes which made it dry and bready. The vegetables were fresh and well prepared. No liquor is served.

“Very Elegant”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

This restaurant is located in the Boone Tavern Hotel. The hotel itself has a very long history. Many famous people have stayed there. The restaurant is very elegant though it is OK to dress casual. Service and food was good. Be sure to check it out.
