“A great stop”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

Some of the nations best artisans have work for sale there - no need to feel pressured to buy but always fun to look at. Normally on Saturday mornings there will be a crafts person demonstrating their work. They have a cafeteria & clean restrooms. Locals will spend a nice afternoon there - if you are on the interstate, its a incredible "pit stop" spend as much or as little time as you prefer. Best part - free admission!

“Nice crafts!”
Reviewed October 27, 2013 via mobile

We ended up parking closer to the geocache located here than to the bathrooms! We walked the Butterfly path and was nice to stretch our legs. The crafts were really nice as well. Plan to stop here!

“Kentucky's Finest on Display”
Reviewed October 19, 2013

Berea Kentucky is a community that everyone should visit to take in the beautiful setting any time of the year. The Artisan's Center has captured a wonderful sampling of the many talented artists and craftmen. My husband visit Berea at least twice a year to bask in the ambience of the Artisan's Center, Boone Tavern, Warren May's Dulcimer Shop, Appalachian Shop, Berea College Log Cabin, Promenade Gallery and Artists and Craftmen Guild Fair. Fantastic community to walk about and just breathe. Of course, we always something to add to our treasure chest of Kentucky-made products.

“Don't Miss This! Lovely Handiwork, Indeed.”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

The Artisan's Center has something for everyone--beautiful art crafts and things at all price points. The greeters are very warm and welcoming, and can tell you anything you want to know about the area. They'll make suggestions about other places to visit in Berea if you're interested--and which I highly recommend! When we entered the gift shop--which is large and beautifully appointed and designed--I found a number of terrific folk art items, books, CD's and blown glass items there that would make wonderful gifts to take home to loved ones. My 11-year-old stepdaughter found lots to interest her--cornshuck doll kits and books about folk tales from Kentucky, along with the beautiful glass. I didn't eat at the center, but I can highly recommend it just for the experience.

“Much more than a rest area”
Reviewed August 23, 2013

Whle driving through Kentucky, we stopped here, thinking it was a typical rest stop / welcome center. However, it is so much more. There are live musicians, craft demonstrations (while we were there, a gentleman was using a lathe to create wooden hats / lampshades), and a great variety of arts and crafts. There was also a snack bar, which we did not visit. Looking forward to stopping again the next time I'm in the area.
