“More than enough”
Reviewed October 9, 2013 via mobile

Hungry Mans pulled pork was generous. It was good. Two sides. I chose not to eat it all so I have enough for another meal at home.

My wife had brisket. It was good. Serving was on the small side and she ate every bite. No left overs for her.

Prices are modest for BBQ. Service was good.

“So so bar b q”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

The bar b q meat items were not bad. I did not care for any of the side dish options at all. My husband concurred. It is not a restaurant we will return to

“Get Organized. Please!!”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

The main reason to go? Outstanding pulled pork! That would be worth the visit, if: You like lemon in your tea. They don't serve lemon, but will give you a few drops of lemon aid, Really! The coleslaw is very inconsistent; sometimes nice and crisp. Other times, very soggy and wet. Service is poor and slow. I've visited three times and my shortest wait was 20 minutes. I did walk out once after 40 minutes with no food. Others were walking out as well. It was NOT crowded. Finally, Service and staff are terrible. Servers argue with each other over duties, servers fight with cooks, and cooks argue to the point where, they can be heard in the dining area. Also, the lady owner yells and screams at everyone. Go for the pulled pork, if you're not in a hurry, and would enjoy watching and listening to all the drama. It is pretty funny!!

“GREAT Locally Owned Fare!”
Reviewed July 20, 2013

Back Porch BBQ used to be located in Renfro Valley. We ate there over a year ago and very much enjoyed it.

Imagine our surprise to find the same restaurant (same owner/ same staff) had moved to Berea, Kentucky? We ate lunch there Friday and Saturday.

Friday lunch choices included excellent hand dipped fried fish in addition to BBQ offerings. The fish was fried just right (not greasy) on a quality bun.

Southern coleslaw and mustard potato salad satisfy--they are clearly home-made recipes.

The pulled pork is actually "pulled"...not chopped up but teased apart as pulled pork is intended.

The BBQ sauce is just right--not too sweet or spicy; just this side of Kansas City style. You add extra sauce at the table to your liking.

Longing for homemade comfort food? Pinto bean soup with sliced onions and fried corn cakes might fit the bill.

Back Porch BBQ isn't a fancy place and it isn't a chain. It's local food, locally owned, and served with pride.
