We had planned on lunch at Boone Tavern, but didn't feel like dropping $50 for lunch. Don't get me wrong, they gave great food, but it is not cheap. Went literally next door to Main Street Cafe and for $5.99 had WONDERFUL soup and salad combo and or $7.99 a quiche that comes with a salad. From the time we ordered until we were DONE eating was 112 minutes! Service was fast and friendly and the food was really good. Would go back!!!

Although the food is very good, I really don't care for the atmosphere. If you go to dinner while they have a live musician, you might as well leave. My fiance and I went to dinner there once and the musician was not very good and his amp was so loud, we had to speak VERY loudly just to hear each other. Asking the waitress if something could be done, she said no and offered to move us to another table. The food is over-priced, but is good.

Over-priced, low-quality food. Over $11 for a chicken quesadilla is outrageous in my opinion. Skip this one!

Owner Sune Frederiksen promises you one thing when entering the Mian Street Cafe and that is consistent and quality service. Hospitality is paramount at the Main Street Cafe as not only the owner but the servers are committed to giving friendly and accommodating service. Presentation is also a key for Frederiksen as he promises the food will not only taste appetizing but look it as well. There is a large menu variety that contains an impressive vegetarian menu that is the largest in the county. With great pride in its vegetarian option all the veggie lovers options are listed in green on the menu. Famous items on the menu include the cafes most popular Angus beef burger and what is "Probably the best salad in town." The atmosphere at this restaurant is one of comfort as it is in a clean, modern and sophisticated setting along with beautiful wall decorations. And if you are looking to dine outside, there is also fabulous outdoor seating in the back as well as a few tables in front on the college square. This restaurant is very alive as it seems to be quite popular among the locals and the tourists. 8 years in business, the Main Street Cafe knows how to satisfy its customers with quality food and wonderful hospitality. If you are looking to grab a meal in Berea don't overlook this place!!

"Probably the best place and town" is the modest motto Main Street Cafe has adapted. It is up to each visitor do decide it for themselves, but this place definitely has some positives. First the decor: a rustic brick wall on one side and a wall in warm yellow color on the other side; a collection of decorative mirrors, small paintings and sculptures hanging on the walls - it all creates a pleasant and authentic atmosphere. You can sit by the wide window with the view of the Berea College square or find a more private table deeper in the cafe. An extensive vegetarian menu (color coded in green) and a wide selection of their famous burgers will satisfy all kinds of eaters. It is an interesting place with nice and attentive waiters and a very different clientele, compared to other student-populated places in town.
