“"Probably the best place and town"”
Reviewed June 5, 2012

"Probably the best place and town" is the modest motto Main Street Cafe has adapted. It is up to each visitor do decide it for themselves, but this place definitely has some positives. First the decor: a rustic brick wall on one side and a wall in warm yellow color on the other side; a collection of decorative mirrors, small paintings and sculptures hanging on the walls - it all creates a pleasant and authentic atmosphere. You can sit by the wide window with the view of the Berea College square or find a more private table deeper in the cafe. An extensive vegetarian menu (color coded in green) and a wide selection of their famous burgers will satisfy all kinds of eaters. It is an interesting place with nice and attentive waiters and a very different clientele, compared to other student-populated places in town.

dropped in for a quick lunch and this place fit the bill. Casual cafe with varied menu, reasonably priced and efficient service. Was very satisfied with my choice

“Disappointment”
Reviewed May 14, 2012

We came here based on reviews and the place was only about a third full. We ordered two apps, and they both arrived very fast, actually too fast. They appeared to be left overs.

Then our server disappeared for over 30 minutes. When she finally came by, they were out of sweet tea! Really!!!! Then out of several other items on the menu.

The entree was good, but again, maybe we came too late (7pm). Everything tasted old.

The only saving grace was the bluegrass band that night. Nice touch.

“Yes, I'll Have Curried Nuts”
Reviewed April 22, 2012

We only needed a very light lunch of soup for one and salad for the other but the staff was very professional yet friendly and not put out by our "light" order. Our food arrived quickly and was great. The side salad was a nice selection of mixed salad greens with a great balsamic viniagrette. I asked for the curried nuts as an add in and would recommend them for every salad. I just needed more of them. Nice menu selections so wish we lived closer to sample more.
