I know this is a place where students work, and students make the crafts (some of them) but still, it's very pricey and not that unique. You can find most of these items less pricey elsewhere.

Log House Craft Gallery is located in the campus of Berea College in some walking distance from the historic Boone Tavern. They sell student made crafts and there are students working in the store. The craft program started in Berea College around 1893 and Log House Craft Gallery is one of the oldest craft stores.
If you stay in Boone Tavern or drive by the town of Berea and interested in crafts, this is a nice place to check out. I am adding some pictures too and they might help more.

We ended up going to the Log house a couple times, as they had the real deal with student crafts. Some of the other stores, if you aren't careful have knock off stuff, especially the baskets. It was clean, bright, well displayed and priced in line with other stores. Be sure to check out the weaving studio out the back of the log house. When you see how hard they work, it explains some of the cost. Again, students from Berea College staff the store, so talk to them. They come from all over the world.

I thought this would be all crafts made by students at the college, but it is an artisan gallery with a few student items thrown. Some beautiful things, but I wouldn't go out of my way. Prices are very expensive. We did pick up a nice bluegrass CD and some glass buttons ($10 for 4 buttons). The town looks very nice and may have been worth a look around but we headed over to Danville & Bardstown instead.

Address for GPS is 101 Chestnut St.

Furniture, jewelry, pottery, yarns, toys, candles, photography, paintings, weavings...you name a craft and they have it. High quality, beautiful ART that soothes the soul. It's in a beautiful log house near The Boone Tavern and downtown Berea. A lovely, quiet, college town filled with artists and their wares, students, professors, townsfolk and visitors. If you appreciate artisan crafts, you will love this place.
