The Bardstown Hampton Inn could serve as a model for good old "southern hospitality." In addition to providing a clean, comfortable room and a good breakfast, the staff went out of their way to be hospitable and friendly. My room was clean and odor-free, and when I arrived one light had been turned on and the AC was running, which made the room considerably more welcoming than I have experienced in many other hotels. The in-room lighting, although from CFL's, was exceptionally good, and provided plenty of light for reading or working at the desk.
If you're arriving from the north (Louisville area), the hotel location is quite convenient--although it is not as convenient if you arrive in Bardstown via the Blue Grass Parkway. But of course Bardstown is quite small, and it doesn't take long to drive to wherever you're going. I would definitely stay here again if I come back to this area.More
