“Great talk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 18, 2013

The talks here are very educational but basic. We watched a video, listened to a guide, and then had a tasting. We learned a lot, but we may have enjoyed the free displays just as well.

“A nice stop on the bourbon tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2012

After hitting many distilleries, I feel like I could give the tour myself, so it was nice that Heaven Hill offered a mini tour for $3. This included a short film, a walk through the visitor center with a guide, and a tasting of 1 sample. Probably the friendliest guide of all our tours, but that may have been because the group was so much smaller than other places. We had a nice time and would love to take a longer tour if we had more time. Had to press on to get all of our passport stamps!

“Multiple visits.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 22, 2012

We have visited Heaven Hill multiple times before throughtout the years. Heaven Hills offers 4 differant types of tours. We have always taken the deluxe tour for $5.00 each. Everytime we take this tour its seems differant. This time we watched a movie, last time we looked around the museum. However, we always go into the rackhouse. Here is where we learn interesting details about bourbon. At the end of the tour you get to sample bourbons. A few times we did our sampling in an awesome bourdon barrel bar, one other time it was in a roped off area of the museum. We enjoy and purchase their Elijah Craig 18 or now 21 year old. All of the tour guides are very knowledgable and passionate about bourbon. We have not yet done the trolley or behind the scenes the tours. I would hope you get more for the money with them. We will continue to go back to Heaven Hill Distillery.

“Seems a bit hinky”

After experiencing most of the other tours at different distilleries, this place felt stiff and formal; I will say that we learned the most about rickhouses while checking out the one in the tour here though.

“The least favorite of our 5 distillery tours.....”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 14, 2012

Heaven Hill just doesn't have the beautiful scenery & location that are assets to most of the distilleries in the region. Plus, they do not bottle on site, so the tour is really just a tour of one rack house, a quick film, and the tasting. If you are doing other tours at other distilleries, I would skip this one, as it was definitely the most boring. Their gift shop, however, is fantastic, so is the perfect place for picking up good souvenirs and gifts. Also, the tour guide (a 70-something blond lady) pretty much treated my husband and me like we had the plague because we had our 5 mo. old with us. He was perfectly quiet and even slept through part of the tour, so I'm not sure what her aversion was to him being there... We were, after all, paying customers.
