“Go for the experience, and the food”
Reviewed October 13, 2013

We had a very enjoyable lunch here on our last day in Bardstown. The dining room really does make you feel like you could be sitting in the pub 100 years ago, it's worth going for that experience alone. The menu is the fairly common set of sandwiches, soups, and salads but all were delicious and the service was excellent (even though it was very busy).

“Good Ol' Tavern”
Reviewed October 4, 2013 via mobile

We stopped in the bar for a drink and to watch a baseball game. It was a Wednesday and very quiet in the bar. The lady bartender was friendly and very accommodating. It is an old bar with plenty of history. Not fancy just a good place for a drink. We didn't go in the restaurant.

“Not worth the stop”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

Even though we read some marginal reviews we wanted to try some local fair.
The service was poor. We thought the waiter was trying hard and the kitchen was slow. Now we think the whole operation is lacking. The food was less than average. When we paid our tickets and received our change, someone kept the loose change from two receipts. We think that is wrong.

“Southern Hospitality”

I missed this place on our 1st two visits to town, glad we finally made it. Amazing atmosphere, friendly service and great food. I had to go with the Hot Brown and it did not disappoint one bit. My with had to satisfy her sweet tooth and went with the Tavern Pie. Similar to a pecan pie, but with walnuts and chocolate. It was fantastic. Our friends had the prime rib and burger with homemade ff. Every was very pleased with their food. I was debating on which bourbon to have before dinner when I noticed the bourbon barrel beer. Wow, what a combination of 2 great things. The bourbon barrels really give this beer a unique flavor and a little extra kick.

We stopped for lunch and had to try the Old Kentucky Hot Brown and it was delicious. We were in a bit of a hurry and the service was excellent -- in and out in 40 mins.
