We were in Bardstown for 3 days and asked locals where we should have dinner. Cafe Primo was mentioned as the "new" but really good place to go. We went there and loved it! The food is mostly Italian and the menu choices not huge but enough for a wide variety of choices. We had the Mediterranean chicken pasta and tasted the lasagna. Both were excellent. Like the other two restaurants we dined at, Cafe Primo is family run with Grandma doing the cooking. Unlike Mamie's and Kurtzs, Cafe Primo goes beyond the typical local family restaurant food quality and equals the special character of a location with history and helpful wait staff. When you go be sure to order the wonderful tiramisu for dessert. Cafe Primo is on Third St in the midst of Bardstown's beautiful downtown.
