“Best tour!”
Reviewed July 9, 2014

This was by far my favorite distillery to tour. Willet is a very small distillery, and because we went during the week, my husband and I were the only people on the tour. Our guide answered all of our questions and since we were the only people there, we got extra time to take all the photos we wanted. There are plans for a bed and breakfast on the property, and we will definitely return and stay there.

“best tour on the bourbon trail”
Reviewed July 7, 2014

willett is, technically, on the craft bourbon trail, but the tour tops the best of the big boys, too! great place to learn more about bourbon production from folks who know how and do it right. family-friendly atmosphere at this family owned & operated business. a must stop for bourbon enthusiasts and collectors. no tour fee for military & veterans!!!

“Great family business”
Reviewed July 2, 2014 via mobile

Very friendly place. Family owned business. We did not take the tour or do the tasting as we had just been here. Counter girl remembered us from tasting. Picked up rye and coffee liqueur. Their bourbon is really good and the bottle is a classic. They are building a B&B which would be a great location.

“Great small distillery tour”
Reviewed July 1, 2014

Willett is a family-owned distillery in the heart of Bourbon country. Like the other tours, the host describes the process, walks you through the distillery, and ends with a tasting. But, because it is a small distillery, there were fun frills not available elsewhere. For instance, we got to hammer in the bung on a freshly-filled barrel, and watch the barrel get rolled to the rickhouse. They were also more open in describing their process than some of the other distillers.
At the end, they were willing to pour 4 samples, but they gave a nice range of choices, so that you could pick something to your liking. This was worth the $7 we paid.

I highly recommend this tour if you like personal attention and the opportunity to choose what you sample.

(By the way, as of July, 2014, I was told the gift shop is not open on Mondays.)

“Proundly family run”
Reviewed June 28, 2014

Our favorite distilling company. We visited this craft distillery while on family vacation with my Mother. The day was very hot and Mother was not able to take the tour. The family members went and found her a rocking chair and brought it into the gift shop for her to be in the cool and made sure she was comfortable while we took the tour. The tour was very interesting and very personable. You could tell they take great pride in their process and products. The pot still and seeing how they weigh and fill their barrels using original scale was very interesting. We also enjoyed the tasting and just being made to feel special. Also tours are free for veterans.
