Two interesting museums inside Spalding Hall. One describes the history of Bardstown and the other deals with whiskey! Both are interesting.

A tour of Spalding Hall is encouraged while in Bardstown. The Oscar Getz Museum as well as the Bardstown Historical Museum have so many unusual items that you could easily spend an hour or two in these museums. They are both housed in Spalding Hall, which has an interesting history itself. Of course, after touring the museums, you can slip off downstairs and enjoy a delicious dinner at the Rickhouse!

This is a great visit. The building and it's history is cause enough for a visit (built in 1820), but then the two museums are even better. Too much to mention but you have to see the whiskey bottle with a combination lock and a real hammer that turns into a flask. The director is very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Knows the Bardstown area very well.
