We wanted to see a burbon distillery because they are very important and historical for the area of Kentucky. I chose this tour because it is 1792 and it is free. We did lean the history and what is important to make a good product. Workers there love their product (pride) and at the end you get to taste their burbon and have some chocolate

If you plan to visit the Bardstown, KY area, the 1792 Barton Distillery tour is a must. The tour takes about an hour and involves walking through all of the bourbon distilling process areas, from the grain receiving facility to the bottling and barrel storage buildings. Our tour guide was great and concluded the tour with a "bourbon taste test" (you are not required to participate). The gift shop has some interesting gifts/mementos, so take your time and enjoy.

If you have plenty of time on hand, make your way over to Barton's for a tour. Seeing how different distillieries operate is interesting, at least to me. However, if you're short on time, don't bother.

It was very informative tour, it lasted about an hour. They start it on top of the hour. At the end of the tour, we were offered 2 samples of bourbon. They were really good.

We decided to take a diversion and stop for my husband. The kids were initially less than thrilled with the idea but found the tour fun. They liked getting a free bung as a souvenir. The tour guide was great and the gift shop prices were very reasonable. Glad we took a chance and decided to stop!
