Owner description: My Old Kentucky Home is one of the most famous songs to have ever been written, but it is also the name of a hallowed and beautiful Kentucky farm with many rich layers of history waiting to be explored and experienced. My Old Kentucky Home is a marvel of elegance and charm, as architecturally magnificent today as it was more than two centuries ago. Your guided house by our costumed guides spans two floors of the mansion, originally named "Federal Hill." On select days, our talented guides will sing the song, "My Old Kentucky Home," for tour guests. See 170 year old antique artifacts including paintings, high-style furniture, lavish period decor, and the carefully curated interiors of Kentucky's most famous landmark.

“My Old Kentucky Home”
Reviewed December 6, 2012

We visited Federal Hill, "My Old Kentucky Home", in mid-October. It was breathtaking with the gorgeous fall colors that were present everywhere as we walked the estate. Walking through the home and surrounding grounds, we could understand the inspiration of Federal Hill which led Stephen Foster to write the Kentucky state song. We are so glad we visited Bardstown and Federal Hill. It's a memory we will never forget.

“Beautifully maintained Park”
Reviewed November 25, 2012

We arrived in Bardstown Kentucky from Ohio for our 'shake down' trip in our newly acquired 5th Wheeler and Dodge Ram Truck. We left Manchester Ohio in pouring rain which continued all the way to Bardstown, not ideal conditions for our first trip!! We had tentatively booked a spot at another RV park in Bardstown, arrived there but discovered that we had blown a fuse and couldn't lower our 'landing gear' on the 5th wheeler so had to head off again to find somewhere that sold these type of things. Long story short we went to the Walmart Store at Bardstown, bought the fuse and then headed off again. We sort of fell across the My Old Kentucky Home State Park and we are so grateful for the blown fuse, the park is close to the township of Bardstown and is beautifully maintained. We did call ahead and were met at the gate house by a very pleasant man with the broadest accent we have ever heard. Being from Australia we struggled to understand what he was saying however we all just laughed, pointed and drove to our designated site. Being our first real attempt at reversing the 5th wheeler we found the sites a little tight but with the assistance of our must have walkie talkies we maneuvered our beast into the spot without mishap. Unhitched etc only to find that our power and water connections were further than the length on cord and hose that we had. So back to Walmart for buy extensions to both. The park was very quiet - ie only one other 5th wheeler however there was someone in the gatehouse the entire time we were there.

The bathrooms / wash house were centrally heated and very clean. Grounds maintained even to the point of all the autumn leaves being blower vacuummed up.

The RV / camping ground is directly next door to the golf course - perfect location is you like a round of golf!

Would definitely recommend the My Old Kentucky Home State Park Camping ground. Perfect!

They have done a wonderful joy renovating this homestead. The house and grounds are lovely. My grandson had his wedding there this summer. Everyone is talking about the beautiful setting. We were so proud that we could have such accommodations.
