A lot of the botanical gardens I have toured simply have many different speciment plants. The Botanica Gardens are actually a beautiufl work of art as well! They also provide great educational sessions if one is interested.

They have done things right in this botanical garden. There are things to hold the interests of all ages with special places for kids. They are reciprocol with some other gardens which is always nice.

Strolled throughout Botanica during the luminary walk in December. There was a colorful light show that was worth seeing as well. All ages would enjoy. So festive and delightful in the cool air.... lovely evening-- I highly recommend it!

They've put a lot of work and funding into the gardens over the past decade and it's apparent. There is a very child-centric section with giant tree houses and trees-with-faces and massive xylophones for children to play. This past Christmas they had a lovely light display set to music and other light details set up to make various segments look like a vineyard or fairyland. It's clear that an absolute perfectionist (or several) are behind each display. Worth braving the cold to see in the weeks before Christmas - and definitely bring the little ones and a camera.

Botanica is worth a stroll any time of the year. Celebrating 25 years in 2013, the trees and other plantings have matured so that one feels that this is a true garden. A new children's garden provides a great experience for children of all ages. In December, the Gardens are lit with magical displays.
