“Locally owned diner”
Reviewed September 29, 2013

The Friendly Cooker (correct name) has been open as a locally owned diner for years. There is nothing eccentric on the menu but there is a nice variety including good breakfast items that are served anytime. The ham and beans plate with a side of cornbread is very good, especially on a cool day. Their pies are great as well. There is a room available for relatively large groups. They are open all day including for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

“OK place to eat.”
Reviewed September 7, 2013

We have eaten here a couple of times and the food is just OK. Last time we had lunch the veggies seemed like they were out of can and had no taste at all. They do make a wonderful coffee cake usually but when we stopped yesterday the cake was burned. I was surprised they would even serve it. There are better places in Wamego.
