Review of 1950s All-Electric House - CLOSED

1950s All-Electric House
Attraction details
Reviewed November 25, 2013

I remember seeing this house in the 1950's as a child. It was presented as the very latest in technology and home comfort. For some reason the clothes press made an "ha" impression on me then. I'm glad they put it back the way it was. I could see myself living there very comfortably.
Love the TV hidden behind the painting on the wall.

Really neat that someone took this house and memorialized the era. A fun little way to spend a couple of hours on a weekend afternoon and worth visiting.

The 1950's All-Electric House is a great taste of what the height of home fashion was over 5 decades ago. I highly recommend visiting the home during the Holiday season as it would be a real shame to miss the psychedelic Christmas Tree in the living room. Brought my mother back to her childhood - she couldn't have enjoyed it more!
Don't forget to check out the museum attached which has a fantastic hands-on section for children (perfect for kids 3-9). All around, a fun filled afternoon for the family.

This tour is a great value!! I liked seeing and hearing about the different "features" of the house (like the fake skylight...or the waist-high outlets). Very interesting & low cost! Definitely recommend it if you're in the area!

If you love all things retro, this is a must see.  For a very small fee, a tour guide takes you through a time capsule show house that GE had built as a "home of the future," with gadgets all over the house. Afterwards, there is a free museum you can visit to learn about the history of local Native American tribes, history of the area, and an interactive play area for kids to make puppet shows, design fashions, and play doctor.
