“Nostalgic, Unique, a must see for local flavors.”
Reviewed November 24, 2007

If you want luxurious, delectable, fine dining and cuisine then go to Martinelli's Little Italy. But for some greasy heart-stopping 'sliders' (think WhiteCastle but more mom&pop style) then the long lasting Cozy Inn Burgers restaurant is a must-do while visiting Salina, Kansas.

Here's the ideal way to get the Cozy Inn experience whilst mixing some practicality (you'll understand after you go there once).
1. There are a few options for getting your cozy burgers- call-in your order; go to the pickup window and give your order; or preferably head on into the tiny waiting area that has some barstools that lets you watch the grill master slap slider patties down on the grill, slosh them good with chopped onions (erupting steam from the water they're in), and squirt ketchup/mustard with shakes of salt before throwing on the buns. They'll then scoop them up and throw em' in a bag.
2. If going in, take heed that after being there everyone in town will know you were there (yea, the smell of the place infuses your clothes and hair pretty good). We usually plan for it and bypass our showers and freshening up as you'll want to shower after being there. We do this so we can chat with the Cozy staff, look at memorabilia simply enjoy the experience of an old time burger joint. But we alway take it back to our hotel and change clothes and clean up prior to our other activities.

Cozy Inn has been putting out burgers forever it seems, and generates crowds of locals and visitors alike. There are those like us that patron there every year and never miss it and will continue this tradition.
IF you're traveling I-70 and looking for something authentic and interesting on your way, stop by Cozy Inn Burgers- just plan for the "scent." :) obviously if you're worried bout that you can just submit your order from the walkup window.

“This restaurant will give you the stinkies. I loved it!!!”
Reviewed March 4, 2006

The Cozy Inn hamburger restaurant opened in 1922 and when you walk inside...it still looks like 1922! There are six porcelin bar stools at the counter and about a two foot walk way behing the stools. I was one of three people standing waiting for my hamburgers and it was crowded.

You are going to STINK! When you place your order, it takes about 10 minutes for them to make your hamburgers on the grill. The hamburgers are about 3" squares. Not too unlike Krystal or White Castle. They do however have more beef on them than those restaurants. The cook can fry about 60 at the time. All hamburgers are made to order. When you are handed your hamburgers, packed six to the sack, and get into your car, the first thing you and all who are with you will notice is how bad you STINK! You will smell just like grease and onions and it will have permiated your clothing. After 5 minutes in your car, your car will be permiated and STINK for days as well. You get all of this STINK for $.75 per hamburger!

These hamburgers are GREAT! They taste great and six of them will fill up even a fat boy like me. They come with pickles, mustard, onions and ketchup.

All I can say is...belly up to the counter and get a bad case of the STINKIES. You are going to love this historic restaurant!
