The sculptures are quite varied and well done. The city has offered this opportunity to view these temporary sculptures annually for a year before changing them. Each viewer is allowed to choose their favorite, and the city then purchases the sculpture with the most votes to place in a permanent location in Salina. Often, individuals and/or businesses also purchase others as permanent additions to the community.

The unveiling of the 2017 sculptures was a unique event. Each sculptor had done an amazing job, I'll be watching to see who wins the viewers choice.

Doesn't take long and brochures are available on street lights poles all along by sculptures. Great photos of where sculptures are located in city that have been purchased in past. One vote you get for statue of the year. Take a herd with you and stack the ballot boxes

Yes, Salina is known for an arts city, and has a number of great opportunities, but the sculpture tour is a great way to introduce people to a variety of art, at no cost to the public, and typically, several pieces are purchased each year by community businesses and organizations and put on permanent display. Having the public vote for a favorite is another low-key way to get the public involved in art.

Always a topic of interest, the Salina Arts and Humanities sculpture tour changes once a year, with visitors and residents voting on their favorite pieces. From the realistic, Norman Rockwell-type bronze figures to ultra-abstract creations, there is something for every artistic taste.
