We love this hotel and we didn't even have our grandchildren with us! It is super quiet and one doesn't hear any children or other people. They have a great pool available for the children and also have a great commissary with everything from wine and beer to pizza and ice cream and all at reasonable prices! However, their omelet bar is THE best we have ever had while staying at hotels. It is custom made all with fresh vegetables, cheese and meat and if one wants another hot option other than an omelet they have a nice steam tray available as well. This is definitely a place we will be staying at regularly on our way out to CO. The room has always been clean and the employees have always been nice and very accommodating. Prices are reasonable , too!

Room Tip: ALL rooms are soundproof! A fantastic feature for a good nights sleep.

Found this place on the internet and it seemed to have decent reviews, so we tried it. Glad we did. It seems like a fairly new place and it was very clean. They advertise as dedicated to quiet and they achieved their goal. Very comfortable beds, excellent shower and came with a fridge and microwave for around $80 plus taxes. The most pleasant surprise was the breakfast. Personally made omelets with a side of sausage, cereal, biscuits and gravy, bagels, juice, milk and of course coffee......all free. This would have been a $20 bill any place else easily. BTW, the Fossil station pizza next door was excellent also.

Room Tip: Some rooms can be far away from the elevator, so if you have a load of luggage, ask for a closer room.

Passing thru Kansas we stayed in Russell at the Fossil Creek Hotel next to I 70. It was quiet, large rooms, very comfortable King bed, extensive work out facility, and large indoor pool and hot tub. Best and only home made omelet ever at any of the hotels we have stayed. Staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay again.

We were in the Russell KS area for a week and stayed at the Fossil Creek Hotel. For a somewhat out of the way area, it was a pretty nice place to stay. The bed was reasonably comfortable and the climate control was good. The shower was a pretty wimpy on the pressure, but after cleaning out the filter screen, it was a little better.

The breakfast was included and they had omelets as well as eggs cooked to order. There was a full complement of things like waffles and etc. No excuse for leaving hungry. One morning they had a full buffet including hash browns, but the hash browns were not real crispy.

All in all, it was OK and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends who were in that area.

Desk staff seems to be more interested in using their cell phones, talking about their drinking escapades, and discussing who hooked with who. Breakfast is a joke as the cook who is supposed to make omelets is rarely on station. Facility is run down and furniture is worn out. Computer and printer rarely work properly. Wireless Internet doesn't work in rooms or conference center.
