“A DELIGHT and so restful!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 9, 2013

A couple of years ago I purchased a Groupon and thankfully discovered this wonderful getaway. Fast forward a few years to my one year anniversary and Cedar Crest ended up rescuing our weekend when the power went out where we were supposed to stay. Matt and Laura are so welcoming and friendly. We stayed in one of the suites...highly recommend the suites. :-) The king bed is so comfortable you will sleep like a dream and never want to get out of it. The breakfast was so good and we loved chatting with couple who were eating with us. All in all I wish we could have stayed another day, and we will be going back again. I shared with a friend about our stay and she texted me the next day saying friends of hers were going there that day...small world. Others are finding out what a great place Cedar Crest is and will be falling in love with it as well. :-)

We are so happy to hear that you were able to spend your first anniversary with us! It is extremely important to us that our guests enjoy not only their accommodations with us but also our food and beautiful surroundings. That's funny that friends of your friends were here immediately after your stay - it truly is a small world! Thank you for your wonderful review. We look forward to seeing you again in the near future!

We spent a night at the Cedar Crest Lodge and the experience was amazing! If you are looking to "get away from it all", this is the place to do it. Though the weather was chilly for April, we took a walk along the beautiful trails around the property. We loved the landscape surrounding the lodge, especially since it sits on 100+ acres. We stayed in the French Quarter room and it was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The huge Jacuzzi tub was a plus. My boyfriend had flowers, chocolate covered strawberries, and champagne waiting in the room. We also had the most amazing dinner brought to our room by the innkeeper, Laura, who was fantastic. The chicken was the best I've ever had! We had to leave early the next morning and miss what sounded like a huge breakfast, but Laura was nice enough to pack us up some delicious muffins and coffee. We definitely plan to come back to Cedar Crest Lodge. It was one of the most relaxing weekends we've had,and it's not too far of a drive from the metro area.

Recently spent the weekend at a quilting retreat with a group of friends and had a wonderful time staying at the dormitory style part of the lodge at the main house. The rooms were warm and welcoming and each decorated in a different theme. The walking trails and nearby ponds were beautiful and Spring was obviously in the air with nesting cranes, ducks and wild flowers everywhere. But the best part was the warm hospitality of our hosts and the wonderful food. From the fresh homemade blueberry muffins to the house speciality, Cedar Crest Chicken, it was an amazing weekend of meals. Laura and Mark and their staff made us all feel so welcome and accommodated our every need and sometimes anticipated when those needs included hot home-made chocolate chip cookies! The rooms were very clean, the beds comfortable, the showers hot, and the food great... and I got a lot of quilting done! It was an amazing weekend and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a retreat weekend with friends.

Room Tip: Our room on the second floor toward the back of the main house had an incredible view.

Thank you for taking the time to send such a lovely review! We enjoy hosting many types of groups in our main lodge building: quilters (such as yourself), scrapbookers, family reunions, biz/church retreats, etc. We strive to make our B&B as comfortable for everyone as possible. Thank you for noticing our efforts. Don't forget we also have our luxury suites (located in our carriage house) if you are looking for a romantic getaway or feel like pampering yourself! We look forward to hosting you again!

My husband & I spent our 10th anniversary weekend at Cedar Crest in the French Quarters room. From the moment we made the reservations we felt the good hospitality! At first we asked about the Wine Country room, but Laura explained that the jacuzzi was not for 2, so we booked the French Quarter. Between the first call & arrival we E-mailed w Laura & must have asked 20 questions & she answered them all.
Gotta make it short because if I'm gonna write about everything they were excellent about I can go on forever! It was cozy there, quiet, relaxing, fresh homemade good food, nice environment, excellent hospitality, clean, massage was wonderful, & more, oh, the bed was so nice I wish we didn't have to leave! The room was so sweet! & everyone always met us w a smile. They are everything the website showed. Sometimes you look at pictures in different websites & think wow, but you arrive & get disappointed, that did not happen here. It was wow the whole time & long after.
One sentence; we couldn't imagine choosing a better place!
Thank you, Matt & Laura & crew for giving us an anniversary we will never forget!
We have told about Cedar Crest to family & friends. I even took your brochures to work & showed my coworkers, so did my husband!

My husband and I spent New Year's Eve at Cedar Crest with 3 other couples. This has been a tradition of ours for many years and Cedar Crest met all our needs perfectly. The rooms were not fancy or fussy but more than adequate. There was plenty of comfortable living space for our group to congregate. Matt and Laura were great hosts...very personable and friendly, as well as accommodating. Our New Year's Eve dinner was very good and breakfast was even better! While the weather precluded much outdoor activity, we would definitely consider coming back again to investigate some of the 100+ acres and certainly our group will talk about coming again for New Year's.
