Loved everything we ate! Service was great and portions were huge. I really enjoyed the seasonal butters for their rolls and the stroganoff was amazing!

Thank Leslie F

If you like German food or if you want to sample German cuisine, Beethoven's 9th in Paola, Kansas is a good choice. Snitzels executed in the traditional pan-fried manner, some classic...Wiener...Jäger...Ziegeuner...Holstein...Kase, and a number of local twists on the standby classic...Cordon Bleu...Ingrid (topped with sautéed spinach, two crab cakes and homemade hollandaise sauce). If wurst is your thing, Beethoven's 9th has four quality german sausages for your consideration. Bratwurst
traditional German style, slightly spicy, a Bavarian Weisswurst (veal and pork), Knackwurst and Bratwurst served in the Nuernberg style. By the way, if you would like to indulge in more than one type of sausage you can add additional sausages for less than $4.00 each. There are more than a dozen sides to choose from (a selection of two with each entree)...many are German standards hot potato salad...green beans...red cabbage...saurkraut and spaetzel. Your dinner starts with rolls served with cinnamon butter. We are talking rolls as big as your head! Beethoven's 9th features a full bar with an impressive selection of imported and local brews, a selection of sangrias (the blackberry was particularly interesting) and the Bloody Mary made with a house-made mix (habanero infused) delivered a delightful kick. For dessert the 4-layer carrot cake (split four ways) was a wonderful finish. Beethoven's 9th is well worth the drive to Paola.

We visited on a particularly busy time for the new location, and had to wait a short time for a table. We were pleased to see our favorites still on the menu, and they were very good. Wine and beer pairings are perfect. Also, try the delicious desserts, such as banana cream pie or peach cobbler. We look forward to coming back.

They moved locations before my first journey to this place. I loved their food! They may be family run as we had some kids bring us plates of food and lots of friendly service. I left stuffed! I had the beef stroganoff which was incredible and I loved their seasonal butter and hot rolls. I didn't have room for dessert because I had nibbles of other plates too, but their desserts looked amazing too!

Schnitzels and Wursts, red cabbage and spaetzel. It doesn't get much better than this. We couldn't decide between all the great choices, so we ordered the sampler platter, added a couple of sides and were pleased because we got to try everything! Mmmm.
German food is getting harder to find. Certainly Beethoven's #9 is worth the drive!
