Great Q. Tried a platter with three choices and it was too much food. Recommended: baby back ribs, creamed corn, and always, always have the beans.

“Best BBQ or Steak in KC!”
Reviewed January 17, 2012

We've been going here for years and you can't beat their steak, BBQ or Brownie dessert. We like to order their Jack's Best plate because it comes with the Baby Back Ribs, Beef Burtn Ends and a Crown Prime Rib. This can easily be shared and is a must try. At least try the Crown Prime Rib, which comes as an appetizer on it's own. They are huge! Seriously the most tender, wonderful meat you can imagine.

Also amazing here is the Kansas City Strip steak (they don't call it a New York strip here in KC and one taste of this and you will agree). The house salad is wonderful, the potatoes are rubbed in butter and sea salt before baking and are amazing. The best chocolate lover's dessert is the Triple Chocolate Brownie. Usually I don't have room for even when splitting the plate with my husband. Portion sizes are very generous.

If you only visit one restaurant while here in KC - this is the one to try. They have several locations which are all good, but the very best one is the original in Martin City.

“One of the best barbecue places in the U S”
Reviewed January 17, 2012

I've been here many times and have never had anything but excellent food. Their beans are to die for. The burnt ends are the best I've ever had, as well as their prime rib. If you want something really special try the crown ribs, but be warmed they come with slaw, beans & fries... More than enough for 2! Also, you need to start out with some onion rings and mushrooms!

“My BBQ go to in KC!!!!”
Reviewed January 12, 2012

I love to have my husband pick up ribs or short ribs, their amazing beans with meat in them, cheesy corn for a treat. Have to break the healthy eating once in awhile!!! LOVE it, my favorite BBQ in KC.

“Line up to take out!”
Reviewed January 12, 2012

This BBQ establishment is a well-oiled machine. On Christmas Eve day, we flew into KC and picked up a very large lunch order to share with the extended family. The take out room was wall-to-wall people, but we were in and out within 10 minutes. The order was correct, the people were midwestern-nice and the food was good. The place has a suburban chain restaurant feel and it sits in the corner of a busy shopping area's parking lot -- not a BBQ "joint" by any means, but it's a pleasant experience. Get the ribs and buy a bottle of their great sauce to go.
