First night stay on floor 16, loud hallways and low soundproofing made it frustrating at bedtime (despite the incredibly comfie beds that I want to drag home with me!)...plus we had a connected room. We could perfectly hear the neighbors talking next door, although they were not talking loudly or inappropriately. However, I called the front desk, and they immediately called the other room, and they got quieter. Doors slam LOUDLY and rattle locks (darn metal fire doors).
Next morn, I just asked front desk if we could move to non-adjoining room. Manager, very kindly, said he'd even do better, and not only switched our room, but placed us at club level. I really appreciated the extra effort (especially with previous bad experiences at other Sheratons). That new room was on 17th floor and the room was significantly quieter. Walking down hall we could hear baby crying next door, but in the room, we never heard it. Excellent! So, moral of this story, let the front desk know what's bugging you BEFORE you ruin your visit.
Only downfall...Starbucks in lobby was out of chai latte (despite ad at front desk). :)
Thank you Sheraton OP (and Manager John Armstrong (?)) for redeeming the Sheraton name...in my mind.
